Issue When downloading the XBuilder project to the Xenta Server, an error shows that the connection to the Xenta Server is timeout. But the ping to the Xenta Server is fine. Environment Xenta Server Xenta 511, 527, 701, 711, 721, 731, 913 Vista Cause The possible cause is that there is proxy setting in the IE browser. It may cause the communication issue with XBuilder and Xenta Server. Resolution Cancel the proxy setting in the Connection setting of IE browser.

Issue Where to find Loytec NIC drivers Environment Loytec NIC drivers Cause Need to get the latest drivers for loytec NIC. Resolution All drivers can be found at Loytec.com under Support - Downloads. The one for the NIC is called NIC - LOYTEC Network Interface Software

Issue New SNVTs are not always added in the end of the XIF-file when using HFB-blocks. Environment TAC Menta TAC Xenta Programmable Controllers Xenta 280, Xenta 281, Xenta 282, Xenta 283, Xenta 300, Xenta 301, Xenta 302, Xenta 401, Xenta 401:B Cause When using HFB-blocks in TAC Menta, the HFB will only be in the application file, and will never be sent down to the device. However, all the blocks belonging to an HFB will be stored together in the application file, this means that if you add a SNVT inside an HFB, it will not always be added last in the XIF-file. Resolution When program SNVT in TAC Menta, always put the SNVT on the top level in TAC Menta, and not inside an HFB block.

Issue Program settings and User profile lost after upgrade. Environment Vista Cause When you upgrade Vista to a new version, a new folder structure is created in the Windows registry. All saved user profiles are stored in the previous version folder structure and need to be exported and imported to the new folder. Resolution First make sure you save the user profile File - Save my program settings Go to Start - Run enter regedit Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TAC\TAC Vista Workstation All Vista version that has been installed can be viewed here. Enter the folder which version you saved the userprofile. Go to TAC Vista Workstation - Settings Right click on the user you want to export and export. Right click on the .REG file created and choose Edit. Change all navigation paths to the version you want to import to. When its done save and right click and choose merge. PS: You can change the folder name in the registry to the correct version and export. Remember to change the name back again afterward.

Issue Looking for the cheapest and simplest Vista Server/Workstation package in version 5.1 Environment TAC Vista Cause Needs the simplest/cheapest TAC Vista Server and Workstation package to be able to work with ZBuilder Resolution The Standalone package contains Server (limited functionality, see data sheet for details) and Workstation, and is the smallest available package.

Issue Troubleshooting VX communication in a Xenta 527, but the page for starting and stopping communication is missing. Environment Xenta 527 Vista I/NET Cause Xenta 527 version 5.1.6 and 5.1.7 should have native modbus support but the feature Start/stop communication and VXI web Shell Command does not work. This is because the html pages for this two functions does not exist and its planned to be included in later version. Resolution If you have a Xenta 700 with the same version you can just copy them  (/www/config/operator) and paste them via FTP to the Xenta 527 and it will work. The links are present in the menu to the left. Only the pages are missing.

Issue When starting the XentaErrorLogViewer on a PC running Windows 7, the program will not start, instead you got a message saying: Component 'MSCOMM32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. Environment Microsoft Windows 7 TAC Xenta XentaErrorLogViewer version 3.87-01B or lower. Cause In Microsoft Windows 7, the file 'MSCOMM32.OCX' needs higher authority to run,. Resolution Under Microsoft Windows 7, you need to right click on the executable and select "Run as Administrator", This has only to be done the first time the software is run.  

Issue TAC Vista does not handle network addresses Environment TAC Vista Cause When you used LNS in older version of TAC Vista there was a checkbox in in the network object that had to be unchecked so that TAC Vista would not overwrite address table information and address information when downloading application. This setting is still there and if you have a upgraded system sometimes this is left unchecked. Resolution Hold down ctrl-shift and select properties on the network object. Check the checkbox "ADDRMGMT"

Issue Where is the information on LVIS Display/Screen Environment Lon Bacnet Loytec LVIS L-VIS L-VIS Touch Panel for BACnet networks   Cause Information on Loytec L-VIS Resolution The L-VIS from Loytec uses bacnet MSTP or LON. Issue Importing an existing Xbuilder project into a Vista Database. Environment XBuilder Vista Workstation Cause Site moving from Xenta Server only to Vista Server Front End Resolution Open your existing Xbuilder Project Select Project>Settings check the box labeled "Send Project backup file to target device" Click OK Press F11 to Sent the project file to target. Once this process is complete you will be able to recover the project file Open Vista workstation. Create a Xenta Server Right-click and edit the Xenta Server XBuilder will open Configure the Xenta servers IP and password information to match the existing device Select Project>Get From Target XBuilder will import the project files from the field device In XBuilder click on Vista Database and chose "Save As..." and browse down to the Xenta Server and click "Select" Click "OK" to the message "The LonWorks network in your XBuilder project will be replaced by the LonWorks network under the Xenta Server in Vista." In Vista, click on Refresh to refresh the Xenta Server

Issue When ordering a Vista Server license module, is there a Workstation license included? Environment TAC Vista 5.x Cause When ordering a Vista software Package, a Workstation license module is usually included (see licensing package matrix in related documentation), but when using a Vista server license, it does not also include a Workstation license. Resolution No Vista Workstation license is included in the Server license. The Workstation license modules are dealt with separately, and if several simultaneous Workstations running are required, the equal amount of Workstation licenses are required.

Issue Get "invalid address" when reading values from a Modbus device in Vista. Environment Vista 5.1.X XBuilder Modbus Xenta 5xx / 7xx / 9xx Cause This problem can be caused by the Modbus device name and the Modbus interface name having the same name in the XBuilder project. Resolution If the Modbus device and interface have the same name change one of them to be different from the other.

Issue Looking for a replacement product for TA218Z or TA218E Environment TA 218Z TA218E Cause An old controller (part no 218-1040-000 or 218-1020-000) with built in clock, designed for room control of reheat heat exchangers and radiators. Designed in the early 80's, now is looking for a replacement. Resolution There is no replacement product available. A programmable Xenta controller would be the best choice.

Issue Is it possible to save a report as a CSV file from Vista? Environment Vista 5.1.X Cause This is a limitation of the software. It is only capable of saving the default file type of XLM. Resolution It is only possible to save a report as XLM not CSV. To create a CSV, open the report in the Excel format (XLM) and then perform a manual "Save As" function to select the CSV extension for the resulting file.

Issue When trying to edit a OGC graphic from Vista a error message is shown, "Can not find the Symbols file". And the OGC editor is not starting up. Environment Vista 4.2.5 Cause The symbols file used by the OGC graphic editor is not correctly defined. Resolution Open Workstation, click on TAC Vista Right click on $Symbols and select Properties Click on the 'source file name', browse to the $ini folder (in Vista 5.1.7 C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\TAC Vista 5.1.7), find the symbols.sym file. Click OK

Issue Can not get CIPCL to autostart Environment TAC Vista Windows 2008 R2 Windows 7 Cause Windows will not allow modification of the registry unless the application is started with the "Run as Administrator" option. Resolution Right click on TAC Vista Server and choose Run as Administrator.

Issue In older versions of Vista (<5.1.5), LMTools version 11.4 is used, and seems to crash sometimes when using the diagnostics functions.  Environment Vista 5.1.4 and older Cause Unstable software Resolution Upgrade LMGRD.exe and LMTools.exe by replacing them with files of version 11.6 that can be found in TAC Vista versions 5.1.5 and later.

Issue Is it possible to create host bindings to Vista using NL220? Environment Vista 5.1.7 NL220 Cause Yes it is possible but you must use a Loytec network interface Resolution Create binding to the LON interface in NL220 and use the Vista System Plug-in to import the project to Vista

Issue Values are displayed in scientific notation (form) when using the folders view. Environment Vista 4 and Vista 5 Cause When Vista needs to display a number larger than 10,000,000 it converts it to scientific notation (or also known as exponential notation).  So the number of character that need to be displayed are less it displays the number in the following format: 10e6. Resolution This is a normal operation of Vista for large values. The best solution is to reduce the size of the number. For example go from kilowatts to megawatts. You can do this by binding the SNVT into a Xenta controller and do a conversion in the controller.  If in a classic lonworks network, you can use an object transfer to bring the SNVT into Menta.

Issue TGML function Convert Status doesn't seem to work for forced Values Environment TGML 5.1.5 or higher. Cause Vista will always identify forced values as online values. As mentioned in 5.1.7 release notes Resolution This can be scripted in other ways in TGML if it is necessary to show when a value is forced.
