Issue TAC Vista interface stops  Environment Vista StruxureWare Building Operation TAC Vista SmartStruxure Interface 1.0.0  Cause When acknowledging an Vista alarm in SmartStruxure, the TAC Vista SmartStruxure interface stops.  Resolution Please download and install the latest Vista hotfix versions for your system from the Exchange.

Issue Does StruxureWare Building Operation support oBIX protocol natively? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, EcoStruxure Building Expert Environment   oBIX Cause In Knowledge Base articles as well as some other sales documents, it shows SmartStruxure as compatible with Obix. Resolution StruxureWare Building Operation does not have built-in native support for oBIX, but there is a gateway product that can talk oBIX.  

Issue Have to download a new NXE file, and I have now 4 possibilities: Keep current configuration in device Download current configuration to device Download default configuration to device Upload configuration from device.   So, what happens when I select the different lines? The 4 options available when commissioning a Xenta 100 Series device as well as performing a NXE download are misleading. Environment SmartStruxure 1.4.1 and 1.5 LonWorks Interface Cause Current descriptions of the four choices are not clear when the Device Application (NXE) file is downloaded at the same time as configuration parameters to the device. The 4 actions are executed after the NXE download.  Before downloading or uploading the device configuration, carefully consider the effects of overwriting the current device configuration in the LonWorks device or Building Operation server. Resolution When the Device application file check box is selected during the Commissioning of a LonWorks device the following is true for each of the four options: Keep current configuration in device The NXE file is downloaded, but as the NXE also contains the default parameters which will place the configuration in the device back to default. This causes a mismatch between Building Operation database and the properties in the device. To get the device to work you must perform a Download the device configuration. Download current configuration to device The NXE file is downloaded, and the configuration is then downloaded from the Building Operation database to the device. The device works OK after the download. Download default configuration to device As the text says, the Default configuration is downloaded after the NXE file is downloaded, and also loaded into the Building Operation database. Upload configuration from device The NXE file is downloaded, but as the NXE also contains the default parameters, the configuration in the device will go back to default. After the NXE file is downloaded, the configuration in the device (which now is the default configuration) is automatically uploaded to the Building Operation database. If this option is picked your device will be set back to the default setting along with your Building Operation database after the download. This option should not be selected as any configuration made to the device will be lost. The 4 actions are executed after the NXE download.  Before downloading or uploading the device configuration, carefully consider the effects of overwriting the current device configuration in the LonWorks device or Building Operation server. Future plans (beyond 1.5) are to move the Device Application file (NXE) download to a separate dialog window to perform this function. 

Issue A script program monitors the value of a digital input on an IO module. The input is wired to a switch that, when pushed by an operator, will toggle a digital output ON/OFF to start/stop a piece of equipment. The issue is the program will randomly fail to see the input changing when the operator releases the button too quickly. This happens even though the IOU module detected the input change as indicated by the LED on the input channel of the UI-16 module. Environment Automation Server SXW UI module Script Program Cause In SmartStruxure, Script programs are executed by a task and then go dormant until the task schedules the program to run again. If the input changes and then returns to the value it had the last time the program executed, the change will be missed. Resolution Instead of a digital input, use a counter input and modify the PE Script to toggle the output when the count increments. Issue Data samples displayed in Report Server are a day (or more) behind Inconsistent / erratic data transfer from Enterprise Server to Report Server. Environment SmartStruxure 1.4.1, 1.5.0 Report Server Cause Due to large amount of Extended logs (100+) which have been collecting data for a week or more, the amount of data that needs to be transferred can be quite large and can take some time to transfer over. Resolution Transfer time can take up to 8 to 16 hours depending on amount of trends and data that needs to be transferred.   It is best to read the Report Agent Log (located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\StruxureWareReports\StruxureWare Reporting Agent\StruxureWareReportingAgentLog) and look at the comments in this file which indicate number records transferred or still to be transferred.   It should be noted that restarting the Reporting Agent or Enterprise Server services will re-initiate this delayed update.  R&D are aware of these delays and are working to improve this performance in future releases. If you feel that the data is taking longer than 24 hours to update then please contact PSS for further analysis.  

Issue   Webreport editor - Trendlog comparison dataset is not set. Environment Report editor Cause We haven't mapped any dataset to display the available trend logs in Ext.Trend Logs selection box. In the web reports application we are generating the trend logs data and displaying it. So you can not see the data through report builder. Resolution Since the dataset is not mapped we cant display the report in the editor.

Issue preventDefault() Javascript function not working on Mouse Up Environment TGML Editor Cause Users want to override the default function showing the StruxureWare Building Operation properties editor by preventing the default action for the Up function. The Building Operation Properties editor is not launched on Mouse Up but on Mouse Click. Resolution Select The TGML Script Add the line "evt.preventDefault();" to the onClick function

Issue Unable to Edit I/NET Trends, Schedules or DDC from StruxureWare Building Operation Workstation on certain computers. Environment StruxureWare Building Operation Workstation Cause I/NET functions are launched from StruxureWare Building Operation Workstation using both graphics and Right Click menu items. These functions are not part of Building Operation Workstation, but are simply portions of the I/NET workstation application being launched from Building Operation. Resolution I/NET workstation should be considered an Engineering Tool for I/NET controllers. Any User that needs to make programming changes must have I/NET installed.

Issue Use the trend calculation value in a program like FBP or script. Environment StruxureWare Building Operation 1.4.1 Cause Once a value has been calculated by a trend, it might be useful to pull it into a piece of programming. Resolution Unfortunately, this is not possible. The Value of a Calculated trend is only accessible from the viewer as a chart or list.

Issue Migration of DMS-3500 to SmartStruxure Solution Environment DMS-3500 SmartStruxure Cause Not all products have been selected for migration to the SmartStruxure platform. Resolution None of the DMS-3500 databases or controller databases can be converted directly to SmartStruxure.  This is an unsupported migration without the use of a Niagara device to act as a gateway.

Issue StruxureWare Building Operation Satchwell MicroNet Integration - Supported MicroNet devices Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, Satchwell MicroNet Environment StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 Satchwell MicroNet devices Cause Not all variants of older Satchwell MicroNet devices that use the SNP protocol and IAC are supported by StruxureWare Building Operation.  Resolution Refer to MicroNet Devices on StruxureWare Building Operation Web Help (log on required) for a list of supported devices.  In Building Operation, MicroNet device is the family name for the following devices: Standard MicroNet devices: MN300, MN440, MN500, MN620, MN LCD, MN Touch Screen, and MicroNet Manager Interface MN 50 Series: MN350, MN450, MN550, MN650, MN LCD, MN Touch Screen, and MicroNet Manager Interface SNP and Intelligent Advanced Controller devices: MMC3601, MMC4601, IAC400, IAC420, IAC600, IAC Touch Screen, and Modem Interface Unit Unifact: URC2201, URC1201 Unifact Pro: URC-40N-100, URC-41N-10x, URC-50N-100, and URC-51N-10x All these devices are supported in Building Operation.

Issue CNT block in the Function Block Editor is replaced by the PI block. How to set up a pulse counter input in a function block program Environment StruxureWare Building Operation Workstation Function block editor Cause Differences between the regular Menta and the Builder Function Block editor programming Resolution The CNT block is replaced by the PI (Pulse input) block in the function block editor. In Workstation, connect the PI to a input where the sensor type is set to counter.

Issue Xenta 913 is locked up randomly, and it needs reboot to make it return to work. When referring to the error log on the web page, the following errors show up: event power PowerFail 1 System is safely shutdown (Error#:49154) event power InitSYS 1 System start - power on (WARMSTART) (Error#:49156) Environment Xenta 913 BACnet Cause Possible cause is the baud rate for BACnet communication is too high that Xenta 913 can't deal with it properly. Resolution It is recommended to decrease baud rate for BACnet communication to 9600 or 19200 bps, and then Xenta 913 should work fine now.

Issue When the AS is communicating with another AS and passing values, is this done via subnet broadcast or unicast? Environment SmartStruxure AS Cause Unicast transmission is the sending of messages to a single network destination identified by a unique address. Resolution When AS to AS communication happens it will use Unicast.

Issue Configured a digital input on SXW-UI16, with nothing connected to the input used a volts meter to measure the voltage between RET and the input, the volts meter reads 20.3. Why? Environment SXW-UI16 Other modules Cause This is normal, what is being measured is the voltage across the pull up resistor on the input circuitry. Resolution Any sensor attached to the input must be able to handle the voltage.

Issue Which format will emails be transmitted in? Environment SmartStruxure Cause IT departments may need to know the format of system generated emails, especially if they use an internal mail server. Resolution The email is sent with text/plain;charset=utf-8 encoding with Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable.

Issue Have the ability in SBO to disable and enable the email delivery from a graphic with a simple switch Environment Automation Server (AS), Enterprise Server (ES) - all versions Cause - none - Resolution In order to enable / disable email delivery from a graphic, do the following: 1. Add a Switch component to a graphic. Save the graphic. 2. In Workstation, open the bindings window for the graphic. Bind the Status of the Email Notification to the Value of the Switch.

Issue When installing SQL server 2008 or SQL 2008 R2 to manually an instance for I/NET, Vista or Continuum, sometimes an error "Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created" will show up. Environment SQL 2008 / SQL 2008 R2 Vista I/NET Continuum SmartStruxure Cause This issue is happening because of a behavior change in .NET that is exposing an issue with SQL Setup User Interface (UI). Resolution Generally, if you just rerun the installer, it won't hit the issue again. If this can't help, just manually create a C:\temp folder and it will work fine.

Issue When importing a file from TAC Menta into StruxureWare Building Operation Functional Block Editor, the import of the application file fails. Environment TAC Vista TAC Xenta StruxureWare Building Operation Cause The following characters are not allowed in object names in StruxureWare Building Operation. • / • " • ? • * • ~ • White space is not allowed in the beginning or the end of an objects name. • . (period) is not allowed in the beginning of an objects name. Colon (:) is not allowed either, but will automatically be replace by an underscore (_) when importing   In TAC Vista, signal names could contain the character "/". In SmartStruxure, this character is not allowed. Resolution Remove illegal characters from object names in the Function Block program.
