TAC Vista User license settings in 2008 Server R2

Issue License settings for different users on Win2008 Server R2 differs from previous versions OS. The user that installs the license system (either with TAC  Vista or as a standalone) will make the initial license configuration in the .Default user in the registry. Next time a new user (that has never logged on to this server before) logs on to the PC, the default license settings are copied to this users profile. Then the user who has installed the license system logs in to the server, and changes the license settings. Now, when the second user logs in again, the license settings are the same as they were in the beginning. It seems that these settings are not stored in the general system settings, but actually in the domain users profile that are fetched upon login. So, all users that have logged in with wrong or not updated license settings, will have to login again and change their settings. Environment Windows 2008 Server R2 TAC Vista Cause Unable to access licenses when logging in with other account than used when changing license path. Resolution If changes are done to the license path ,every user has to manually change their settings to get the system to work. Or, a batch file or similar has to be run upon login to change settings in question.

Using an Area control in pinpoint to activate an area into a lockdown state

Issue Clicking an Area control in pinpoint will only put the area into a lockdown state instead of cycling its lockdown state Environment Cyberstation Pinpoint (Graphic) Cause The Area control on a graphic panel will only activate the lockdown. Resolution In order to remove a lockdown activation that was selected by an area control on a graphic, editing of the area object itself will need to be performed in order to remove the lockdown. This is as designed since for a security feature of locking down entire areas, there should be no mistake of double clicking on the graphics area control to accidently disable the lockdown.

How do I share a regularly changing value like the outside air temperature in the UNC with a BACnet controller?

Issue I am running R2 529 and cannot find the right object to be able to write an analog value in the UNC to an AVSPP object in the MNB controller. Environment I/A Series R2 (niagara) UNC Cause I/A Series R2 (niagara) UNC Resolution If the analog value being shared is one that will be changing regularly it should be written to an AVSPP object in the MNB controller.  The AVSPP object requires a priority be provided with the analog value.  To accomplish this use the Fs2Fp object provided in the 532d version of the programlib jar.   Link the output of the analog value to the input of the Fs2Fp object.  Define the priority level you want to send it at in the Fs2Fp object.  Link the output of the Fs2Fp object to the priority input of the AVSPP and the value will be written to the controller.

Visitor Management Software: EasyLobby

Issue Can the EasyLobby software be integrated to I/NET Seven only, or can it be integrated to the I/NET Host Tool? Do you have a detailed configuration guide to integrate to I/NET systems? Is there any Visitor Management Software (VMS) that works with I/NET? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven I/NET Host Tool EasyLobby Visitor Management Software (VMS) Easy Lobby Cause I/NET site and client is requesting a Visitor Management Software Resolution Concerning EasyLobby, they have a full integration to I/NET; however, it was not a joint effort. They did it on their own without I/NET R&D involvement. I/NET development/PSS has never tested it, and will not support the integration in any way. Please contact  EasyLobby support if there are any integration issues. The product is only supported on Continuum because Continuum in Boston & EasyLobby did that integration together. EasyLobby obtained a copy of v2.40 of I/NET and did their own interface without Product Support Services.  For third party individual management software programs which work with I/NET, search the Knowledge Base for "ID Works."

Issue When trying to install the I/A Series Software (release 514 or later) on a new computer, an error is displayed that indicates Java is required.  Where do I get it and what version is required? Environment I/A Series R2 Software release 5.14 or later. Cause Microsoft can no longer distribute the Java JRE (Java Runtime Environment) with its operating systems.  The I/A Series R2 software, release 514 and later, requires the industry standard Java JRE to be installed on the computer before installing the I/A Series software. Resolution Download and install the latest available release of Java version 6 or 7, based on your version of Windows. The software can be downloaded from the web site http://www.java.com.  The site normally detects your operating system and provides the proper version when you click the [Free Java Download] button on that site. Java version 6 update 10 is the minimum recommended release for the I/A Series R2 software.
