Where can I find information on lighting controller programming?

Issue Where can I find information on lighting controller programming? Environment I/NET Site Cause Where can I find information on lighting controller programming? Resolution It is outlined in the System Operator Guide, TCON 207 for I2K rev 1.XX, TCON 236 for rev 2.XX, chapter 15 for both. There is some additional information, such as the addresses for zone points, are limited to 1200-1507. Another specific is, the control descriptors for the zone, must have the first of the pair equal a value of one. The control descriptor for the circuit points, need the first of the pair to equal a value of zero. There is an example save file in all host soft wares, sav subdirectory, named DEF7780.sav. A person should copy this file, rename it to their controller address and load it, to view examples of points.

Using I/NET2000, Can a site change a filemaster setting?

Issue Using I/NET2000, Can a site change a filemaster setting? Environment I/NET2000 Cause Using I/NET2000, can a site change a filemaster setting? Resolution Not, without difficulty. Setting a pc as a filemaster makes irreversible changes in software. We, in tech support have not found a way to reverse them, short of uninstalling Inet, deleting the root directory, and removing registry entries. Then reload Inet software. See pages 1-12 through 1-14 of TCON 237, Technical Reference Guide for a discussion of filemaster functioning.

Can I have more than one version of I/Net 2000 on the same hard drive?

Issue Can I have more than one version of I/Net 2000 on the same hard drive? Environment I/NET 2000 Cause Can I have more than one version of I/Net 2000 on the same hard drive? Resolution Yes, although we do not recommend that you do this, it is possible. You will need to first partition your hard drive. After you have created two partitions, you will need to install a version of windows on each partition. One of the partitions will have to be WinNT with NT being installed first. This way you can have I/Net 1.20 on C:\ and I/Net 2.10 on D:\. The two versions of I/Net 200 cannot share a Windows registry.

I/NET host will not save the controller's database and navigation

Issue I/NET host will not save the controller’s database and navigation. I/NET seems slow. An hourglass appears for a few moments, but no new (or updated) “SAV” file is generated. Environment I/NET Site Cause The NETCON file is probably corrupted. Resolution Shut down I/NET. NETCON is in the “DATA” folder in I/NET. It is recommended to remove the file; but don’t delete it until you know you won’t need the old information. Restart I/NET, then save each layer of the new NETCON architecture. Don’t forget to complete this process for the sub-LAN controllers and any access-control doors too.

ISDN communication with I/NET

Issue Can ISDN be used to communicate to I/NET? Environment I/NET Site Cause Can ISDN be used to communicate to I/NET? Resolution I/NET is not designed to be compatible with the typical adapter of ISDN. ISDN, which stands for Integrated Services Digital Network, is a digital phone service that was popular a few years ago as an alternative to dial-up connections. ISDN allows data to be sent about twice as fast as a conventional phone line - up to 128Kbps (kilobits per second) rather than 56Kbps. As an added plus, a single ISDN line can be split into two separate channels, so you can carry on a voice conversation while your computer is connected to the Internet. It sounds great, but the catch is that it’s expensive. An ISDN connection doesn’t require a modem. Instead, you use a special ISDN Adapter, which may cost hundreds of dollars. In addition, you have to pay the Phone Company to install the ISDN line, and you pay a monthly fee for the line. On top of that, you may be billed by the minute for usage. With the spread of low-cost cable modem access in many areas and the cost of DSL access coming down, ISDN is fast becoming a thing of the past It was a good idea for its time, but its time has passed.
