What will the pressure drop across a 32mm valve be?

Issue The pressure drop across the valve is required. Environment Valve Pressure Drop Cause Customer needs to know what the pressure drop across a 32mm valve will be. Resolution Example: two 32mm V211T valves with flows of 0.549 l/s and 0.483 l/s through them. To calculate the pressure drop use this formula - Pressure drop = (Flow rate in M3/Hr / KVs) squared. Flow rate of 0.549 l/s 32mm V211T has a KV of 16 Converting flow to M3/Hr - 0.549 * 3.6 = 1.9764 Pressure Drop = 1.9764 / 16 = 0.123525 squared = 0.015258 Bar * 100 = 1.526 kPa Flow rate of 0.483 l/s 32mm V211T has a KV of 16 Converting flow to M3/Hr - 0.483 * 3.6 = 1.7388 Pressure Drop = 1.7388 / 16 = 0.108675 squared = 0.0118102 Bar * 100 = 1.181 kPa To review the Satchwell Valve sizing data sheet, please click HERE.

Issue How can we exclude Hosts or Users from accessing the Workstation Professional license i.e. Script, Function Block and Graphic editors from another Workstation? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation License Server FLEXnet Cause When accessing various editors from within Workstation a particular license does not differentiate host or user who should have access to which editors. Using the option file taclic.opt allows you to exclude certain Host / Users of StruxureWare Building Operation from accessing these Workstation clients. The Workstation clients referenced are as follows: client.station (Workstation) client.script (Script Editor) client.functionblock.view (Function Block Editor) client.graphiceditor (Graphic Editor) Resolution FLEXnet Licensing provides the options file to be included in the License Server directory. Each time the License Server service is started this file is checked. Syntax and use can be found in the attached document - Chapter 13 The following option file must reside on the License Server in the following path: Building Operation 1.9 and below: C:\Program Files(x86)\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation 1.x\License Server Building Operation 2.0 and above: C:\Program Files(x86)\Schneider Electric EcoStruxure\Building Operation x.x\License Server Once this file is copied into the License Server folder, you must restart the license service (via the Windows Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services). Schlage Wireless Access Control Solution documents

Issue Requests for information on a wireless access control solution Environment Continuum Schlage Windows XP Windows 7 Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008 Cause Easy access to documentation for the Schlage Wireless Access Control Solution Resolution 09-17-2012 The Security Center of Excellence is pleased to announce the integration between Schlage AD-Series locks and Andover Continuum Netcontroller II and ACX 57XX family of controllers. This integration will provide a cost effective and scalable access control solution. Schlage AD-Series locks combine all of the components typically found around the door such as the door position switch and the request to exit switch into one unit which simplifies installation and saves money. Since they are designed to be modular Schlage AD-Series locks can easily be upgraded in the future to meet changing security and technology requirements. Within Continuum Cyberstation the Schlage locking device will look and function like a normal door and an XDriver at the controller level will provide access to these devices. This solution is ideal for education and healthcare facilities but can also be used in a wide range of other applications. For more information please contact COE@Buildings.Schneider-Electric.com.   Schlage Data Sheet Final.pdf Andover Continuum _ Schlage Integration Offer Final.pdf Andover Continuum _ Schlage Integration Training Final.pdf

Guard Tour for I/NET

Issue Guard Tour for I/NET Environment I/NET site with Access Control Cause Is there a Guard Tour configuration or is there add-on software for Guard Tour with I/NET Access Control Resolution I/NET really does not have a Guard Tour add-on. It does not have a Guard Tour setting with the Access Control functionality.    What I would suggest however, is that you can run a report on an individual card, and this report could have the times at which the card was used. This could for example be the Guard card, and show that at specific times the Guard used the card. This also would apply to a Group such as Guards. I/NET does not have a Guard Tour add-on. Archiving and SQL database size keeps growing

Issue Archiving and database size with FIFO not working Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET site Cause dbo.Events keeps growing and presumably is not in FIFO mode (First In First Out) Resolution Note: Autogrowth is not used with TAC I/NET Seven or TAC Andover Continuum The size of the InetDB can be set through Microsoft SQL Server Management Tool:   By selecting the InetDB database properties you can set the Autogrowth setting via the Files page.  Under the Autogrowth column select the browse button as shown:   The Change Autogrowth setting by either disabling the Autogrowth check box or you can set Autogrowth to a Maximum File Size as shown:     The Autogrowth value now shows this setting is restricted to setting define in step 2.   Disabling Autogrowth allows the events to be removed from the table when the total size of the SQL database reaches the limitation set in the properties of the db. The table dbo.Events has all the current events and it should be the biggest. The dbo.currenteventdetail table keeps up with the current max events and the current minimum events. Lets say it is around a million (1,000,000) events and so the first event in this table would be 01 and the last would be the 1000000. If items are removed from the other table, the dbo.Events, then this other table, the dbo.currenteventdetails is off. This means we run the risk of losing those events that are not correctly numbered. Manually removing items from one table can have an impact on other tables and how this data is kept and archived. About archiving and shrinking the db, this is a function of SQL. SQL goes into a FIFO mode, which means First In, First Out. This keeps the db from getting to large. The archived records are designated as archived in the db and even though they are still (secretly) in the db, they will be out as soon as the db is over the capacity amount and the amount designated in the db.currenteventdetail table is the guide for what is current. The thing that keeps the db from getting to large is the archive is setup correctly and old data is archived. It is still available via Reports, but considered not technically in the db. That is what shrinks the db and keeps it from getting over size.    Note: Autogrowth is not used with TAC I/NET Seven or TAC Andover Continuum

How to get the modbus registers from a ICP7188

Issue How do you get the Modbus register list and communication values from a ICP7188 (SP7040) project. Have extracted files from ICP7188 (blue turtle) want to upgrade this to a Xenta 731 or 913, how can I read the current register configuration from this device. Environment ICP 7188 Cause Want to replace a ICP7188 "blue turtle" device with a Xenta 731 or 913 and need to now what the current Modbus configuration / registers are in the ICP7188 device. Resolution To retrieve the Modbus values from the ICP7188 (SP7040) project you will need two text files Cfg9100.txt and MAP9000.txt. from the original project. and the following files contained in this ZIP file SP7040. Note:  If you need to extract these files you can follow the instructions in the "ILink Commissioning Guide" PDF which is contained within the above ZIP file.  If you don't have the LinkTerm application detailed in this document you can download and install it from here. N.B: After extracting this LinkTerm.zip file there are two files with the extension '.rename', ISDEL and SETUP.  Both these extension must be renamed to '.EXE' and then you can follow the instructions is the above mentioned guide. After extracting the SP7040 ZIP file to a drive on your PC along with the two text files into the directory proceed with the following steps: 1. Open the TGT9100.xls file. Make sure you have Macros enabled in Excel. 2. Then select the Device Editor button.   3. This will move you to the System Device summary with a message indicating there is a mismatch of the configuration files. Select Yes too load the configuration files   This will populate the Table from the txt files copied earlier. 4. Now you can select the + button next to the Type heading 5. Then select the + button next to the Type heading to show the Modbus values for that device.   6. A method of doing carpark access control with Continuum Plain English.

Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Issue Sample programs for carpark access control. Environment Continuum Access Control Carpark Access Carspace Counting Cause Want sample code on how to provide Carpark Access Control. Resolution It is possible to do car park control with Continuum Controllers. There are a number of different ways to do this depending on the sites specific requirements. PSS doesn't provide programming for specific projects but we can provide generic examples. *** Note: This sample code is provided as-is to be used as a sample only.   *** To start off, a very simple solution could be:   To have three Areas defined, Outside, CommonCarPark, and EmployeeCarpark. You then create Door objects for the Entry Readers at the entrance to CommonCarPark and EmployeeCarpark. Use a PE Program to Monitor the CommonEntry Entry Reader for ValidAccess and set a pre-alarm flag (Numeric). Have an AlarmEnrollment attached to the pre-alarm flag and set for a specific amount of time (3 minutes). Have another PE Program that monitors the EmployeeEntry Entry Reader for ValidAccess and then re-sets the pre-alarm flag stopping the alarm from being sent. You could use this sample program, with some modifications, to provide you with this functionality. This is a very simple way of doing it that doesn't take into account having more than one car coming in at the same time though...you could expand on this to include using arrays to store the details of the Personnel that have badged and then have a timer associated with that specific Personnel, set both values into an Array and then have another program monitor that Array and compare the time they entered against the current time...if the difference was more than your alarm time then raise an alarm. When that Personnel badges at the EmployeeEntry Reader you remove their entry from the Array. A sample on how to do this is here. This one is a bit more complex than the previous example but it should give some ideas to start with to mold into a solution. There is a WS program as well as a controller program. The controller program does all of the carpark control which uses arrays to store the number of car spaces currently available for each department group (company/tenant) and allows of disallows new cars from that dept depending on available slots. This solution required both a roller door and a gate inside the roller door to create a "mantrap" for the desired control but the same principle could be applied in a simpler design. The WS program was used to provide a solution to the tenants locking themselves out of the carpark when they didn't badge out properly. It uses an object to search though all Personnel to find a specific card number and then resets that Personnel's current Area so they can badge at the anti-passback enabled Door. From memory, this part of it didn't work as well as the carpark access. The code is good just the method of searching through all Personnel was prone to locking up. Depending on the number of Personnel and size of Database it can take a longtime to do the search ... and the program can time out and go to disabled. So there was human intervention needed at various times.

How to enable the "Disable Card if Not Used In" feature of the Personnel Editor object?

Issue How to enable the “Disable Card if Not Used In” feature that shows on the Privileges tab of the Personnel Editor object? The option is greyed out and no values can be entered. Environment Continuum Personnel Editor Cause The feature has not been enabled and there are currently no plans to implement this feature.   Resolution The feature is not implemented. At the time of writing this, the documentation and online help had not been updated to reflect this and are misleading. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Although, it is possible to create this functionality through a Plain English program that looks for cards that haven't been used in a certain amount of time and then disables those cards. See these sample programs below. They are not an exact solution but provide the methodology to be used. Dead Report Expire Disable Cards   Depending on how large your Personnel list is will determine how much success you will have with this PE solution. The OpenList command can have issues and lock up if the list being searched takes too much time to go through.
