Issue What is the maximum cable length for Continuum I/O bus (IOU Module)? Environment IOU Module Cause Need verification of cable length. Resolution Maximum Length of I/O Bus The Andover I/O Bus is a network. Networks are limited by cable lengths because electrical signals lose power and distort as they travel along wire. Issue Does Continuum provide a way to monitor the 61850 protocol? Environment Continuum Cyberstation 61850 protocol Cause Protocol support Resolution Continuum does not provide a means to communicate with the 61850 protocol either directly or xdriver.

The database schema changed between 3.3 and 3.4. Resolution The following changes needed to be made to the SQL database. Altered the existing HISTORY_CONFIG table in the SQL database to change the column to INTERVAL_. Altered the HISTORY_CONFIG table, added a column called SYSTEMTAGS, set up as VARCHAR(500). Changed SOURCE column length to VARCHAR(500) in the HISTORY_CONFIG table  

Issue If a Security Level has been created in Cyberstation and is no longer required how can it be removed? Environment Cyberstation all versions Cause It may be required to remove a Security level from a system or to remove its action from an object. Resolution It is not possible to delete a Security Level after it has been created in Cyberstation. You can however remove the security level action from an object: in the Security Level tab; to de-select the security level right click and choose "Clear Selection".

Issue Sigma AI objects could be seen to suddenly change in value through the system logging. Environment AI Objects Temperature Sigma controllers Cause This is caused by a fault on the processor card. Resolution Replace the CPU card.

Issue Need to replace the GCMA-136-2 repeater circuit board. Environment Network 8000 devices on an RS-485 bus (ASD, LCM, or GCS) with fiber-optic repeater(s). Cause Failure of the repeater. Resolution The GCMA-136-2 printed circuit board is the major component of the fiber optic repeater RPTR-FIBER. It is not available separately. Order the RPTR-FIBER to replace the complete repeater.

Issue What is the maximum distance an xP expansion module can be installed? Environment xP Expansion Module Cause Maximum cable length Resolution Modules can be connected to the bottom of the controller with the built-in expansion port connector or they may be connected remotely via a 3-foot (~1m) or 10-foot (~3m) ribbon cable. A total of 10 feet of cable may be used for all Expansion Modules. Mounting and securing of the xP modules is provided through four mounting holes in the base plate.

Issue How do configure a SNVT in Xbuilder to send only on change? Environment TAC Xbuilder Cause Having a SNVT that you only want to send on change Resolution Set the period to 0 (zero). This will configure the SNVT to send only on change.

Issue Workstation program functions while logged on to Continuum but stops functioning when the user logs off. The program disables with the error ''You do not have sufficient access to do the requested operation.'' being displayed in the Run Time tab of the program properties. Environment Continuum Cyberstation Cause When Continuum is logged off, the access rights of the default ACC user are used for things such as when Workstation programs run. If the ACC user has had its security settings restricted then these restrictions are applied when the correct user (who may not have these restrictions) is logged off of Continuum. This could then result in a workstations program trying to read / write or do some other action that it is not allowed to do under the current restriction. Resolution Modify your security restrictions on the ACC user to allow for actions that your Workstation Program is trying to perform.

Issue Unable to select DVR when selecting Video source device in Video Object control in a Pinpoint Graphic. Environment Continuum Cyberstation Pinpoint Graphics Endura DVR Cause The Video Object control in Pinpoint is not able to have an external DVR as the source. It is only able to show images from internal cameras connected to the Workstation such as by USB or the older Integral Flashbus card.   Resolution The Video Object control only supports cameras connected to the Cyberstation through the means of USB or an Integral Flashbus card. Alternatively, there are two options available to show video from an external DVR/camera in a Pinpoint Graphic. Configure a VideoLayout or Video Monitor object and link this to the DVR and camera you wish to view. Create a button on the graphic to launch the required camera. If the camera is an IP camera and supports streaming, use the embedded Webpage control on the Pinpoint graphic to link to the webpage streaming the camera image. Note: This is a resource heavy way of displaying video in Cyberstation and isn't recommended. The integration that is offered to Endura or Digital Sentry are the best solutions for displaying video in Cyberstation.

Issue When exporting a pointslist from VisiSat 2.1 build 148 to XBuilder (See pdf link in Resolution below), the format of the TACXBuilder.xmlm is not aligned in a manner that XBuilder fully understands. Environment Xenta VisiSat Points list Export Cause TACXBuilder.xmlm is not aligned in a manner that XBuilder fully understands. Resolution Install service pack 1 for VisiSat 2.1 build 148. Issue What is the life expectancy of the LCD display of smart sensors with available display? Environment Smart sensor with LCD display Cause Display life expectancy. Resolution The Life expectancy of an LCD Display is 50K hours. Note: Life is reduced if LCD works under direct sunlight. If you use a LED backlight in a LCD module the life expectancy of the LED is 30K to 50K hours, depending on the forward current. EL backlights are available but we don’t recommend them because of their short life (3K hours) and EMC problems. The AC voltage is generated by the DC to AC inverter.  

Issue When installing UltiVist on a new OS/2 computer, it fails to begin stating there's not enough space on c: drive.  However, c: drive has plenty of free space. Pop-up error message reads as follows: Setup is unable to copy the installation support file a:\~ins0762.lib to a temporary location.  Error 420 Environment UltiVist Cause The primary partition size is an issue for UltiVist. OS/2 can support partition sizes greater than 2 gigabytes if HPFS is selected over FAT.  UltiVist will NOT support a primary partition size of 2 gigabytes or greater and, as a result, it will think that there's insufficient capacity for writing data to the partition. To confirm, open a Win-OS/2 window, go to file manager, and check the drive space.  If a partition of greater than 2 gigabytes has been created, the available drive space will display as zero. Resolution Create a primary partition size of 1.99 gigabytes.  It can be HPFS or FAT. Best practice:  Install only OS/2 on the primary partition.  Install UltiVist on an extended partition (typically d: drive).

Issue A Network 8000 LCM-84x10 or LCM-88x10 will be integrated with a Niagara R2 UNC.  What firmware revision level must the LCM have for proper operation? Environment Network 8000 LCM Niagara R2 UNC-520 Cause The integration requires the LCM to have at least Year 2000 firmware installed.  The shadow objects in the Niagara station will not update or function properly. Resolution Upgrade the LCM using EPROM kit # LCMA-138-54. This kit is to be used with the LCM-84x10 or LCM-88x10 and it will upgrade the firmware level to 5.4, Year 2000 compliancy. It is available for purchase via iPortal.

Issue Product Rationalisation Environment Global Cause The IAC-420-F part number for an IAC-420 with fixed terminals has been made obsolete. The IAC-420-P specification number should be used. The only difference between the two devices is fixed (F) terminals against plug in (P) terminals. Resolution The replacement for either an IAC 420-F or an IAC-420-P is the IAC-420-P

Issue We have spare Continuum CX9400 controllers which we need to replace the damaged Infinity ones on a old SX8000 installation.   Environment CX9400 Eclipse Continuum, Infinity SX8000 Cause SX8000 Flash files are not posted on the Extranet and the product is obsolete. Resolution It is not possible to downgrade a CX9400 Eclipse from Continuum back to Infinity in the field, this is a one way process to upgrade using a Continuum Flash file in SX8000. There are no Infinity flash files that would allow you to go backwards. Your only option would be to contact your local Repairs department and arrange to have the controller shipped back to the factory where they should be able to re-load in the Infinity Operating system.  

Issue Getting the message “Cannot display page” and “Access Denied: Remote host does not accept brand “Webs”” while trying to access the Platform of an ENC-520 with Niagara G3 WorkBench. Environment G3 Niagara all version, ENC-410, ENC-520 Cause Honeywell WEBs (Honeywell’s version of Ax) on the same PC as Niagara G3. WEBS was installed and licensed first. G3 was installed after WEBs, but never licensed. Since a license for G3 was never obtained, G3 was attempting to use the Honeywell license to connect to the ENC-520. This results in a license brand incompatibility. Resolution The Niagara G3 WorkBench has to be licensed to connect to an ENC.   All TIP and end customer Niagara G3 / R2 license requests are emailed to:IASeries.License@buildings.schneider-electric.com
