Sigma Programmable Object - What formula is used to calculate Enthalpy?

Issue How is Enthalpy calculated in Sigma? Environment Programmable Object Prog Point Enthalpy Cause Customers request for this information. Resolution A Programmable Object calculates Enthalpy using the following formula. I = 1.006 * t + x * (2501 + 1.8 * t) where t is the temperature and   x = 0.62198 * (í * pdm / (p - í * pdm)) and at p = 101.325 kPa => x = 0.62198 * (í * pdm / (101.325 - í * pdm))     where   í is relative humidity and     pdm = p` = 101325 * 10A   where   A = A0 - A1/T - A2*logT - A3*10(-T/A4) + A5*10(A6/T)   where A0 = 20.82648355   A1 = 2948.997118   A2 = 5.02808   A3 = 29811.33781   A4 = 32.923061   A5 = 25.21934913   A6 = 1302.8503   T = absolute temperature = 273.15 + t

Licensing requirements for SQL Server 2008 on a Continuum LAN installation.

Issue How are the licencing requirements for SQL Server 2008 determined when being used on a Continuum LAN installation with multiple workstations.  Environment SQL Server Continuum Licensing. Cause Determining the licensing requirements for SQL Server can be a very complex undertaking, and not something that we can help you with at Product Support. This is because there are a number of variables that must be factored in to the final determination.  Web servers and Marathon virtual servers add their layer of complexity. Even determining the requirements for a simple multi user LAN system with one database server and ten workstations can be tricky since one has to factor things such as how many processors each machine is running as well as how many machines will be connected to the database.   Resolution The following guide is a starting point. To bid a job however, I would recommend working with Microsoft to determine the requirements. SQL Server 2008 Licensing Guide.pdf

Setpoint value changed after performing a download of a XBuilder project into a Xenta Server.

Issue A change is made to a public signal in TAC Vista Workstation, which was created in a Xenta Server XBuilder project, changed back to the initial value after performing a download to this Xenta Server. Environment Xenta Servers (Xenta 511, Xenta 515, Xenta 555, Xenta 527, Xenta 701, Xenta 711, Xenta 721, Xenta 731, Xenta 913) XBuilder Tested with Windows Server 2003, Window XP SP3 Cause If a path name is changed of a signal, for example, change the "the site name" folder name to another name, Vista consider this change as a major change, and Workstation will not be able to find the new path of the signal. Therefore, the signal will return to the initial value which is initialized in the Menta object. Resolution Suggestion is making all the infrastructure change at the beginning if you can. If there is a need to change the path, make sure all the initial values are reflect to the current values in Workstation. Then, make the download to the Xenta Server.

Environment BCX9640 i2920 Infinet Cause Electrical interference or noise being introduced into the Infinet bus. How do TAC Vista server logs affect the performance of the server?

Issue How do TAC Vista server trend logs affect the performance of the server and LON network? Environment TAC Vista server LON Network Cause The bandwidth of the LON network is for all communication on the LON wires to share. This includes all graphics, object transfers, etc. Resolution The bottleneck is the communication to the lon network. Depending on what interface (LTA) you are using Vista can handle about 15-40 read/writes per second. Many Vista Server trend logs would increase the amount of information being sent out on the wire and if there is a sufficient number of them, you may see some delays on other forms off communication: i.e., graphics, object transfers, etc.

How does a digital command from a Niagara R2 station get transferred down to a Microzone II?

Issue A digital command (by schedule or by manual override) must be linked to a supply fan wired to a Microzone II controller.  How does it get programmed? Environment Niagara R2 ASD driver Microzone II Cause Minimal experience with the Network 8000 product line Resolution Link the output of the native Niagara object to one of the digital inputs of the MZ2EmsDi object. Ensure that the Microzone's "emsControlDefault" is set for "On".  This can be checked on the Properties > Config tab for the Microzone's Shadow object. Using serial tunneling with PSI, ensure the same Microzone's EMS block's output attribute "EMS" indicates "ON".  This means the Microzone is under control from the UNC.  If it is OFF, then the Microzone is in a stand-alone mode of operation. The digital command from the UNC station is now available at the corresponding DV output of the EMS block in the Microzone.  It can then be linked to another block involved with fan control.

Can a DMS-350A controller replace a DMS-35 controller?

Issue Can a DMS-350A controller replace a DMS-35 controller? Environment DMS Cause DMS-35 has failed and customer has a spare DMS-350A from a previous retrofit. Resolution Yes, it is possible. To replace a DMS-35 with a DMS-350A, ensure that at least one DCM is included (the MicroSmart controllers connect to the DCM and the DCM connects to the DMS-350A). Ensure the firmware level in the DMS-350A & DCM is the same (or higher) than the MicroSmart controllers.  For example, if the MicroSmart controllers are revision 10.x, then the DMS-350A & DCM must be revision 10.x or 11.x. The DMS-35 database will not install directly into a DMS-350A because of the DCM.  The points in the MicroSmart controllers will have to be re-linked thereby creating a new database.
