Release elevator floors for free access when the door time schedule will not.

Issue How to free the elevator floors for free access when a door time schedule will not. Environment I/NET Elevator control 7920 MR-88R DIO 7940 Cause Elevator control design. Resolution If you only have a few floors, you could use a 7920's extra outputs in series or parallel with the floor outputs. Then attach a time schedule to them. If you have many floors, use the outputs of an MR-88R or a DIO 7940 in the same way. You might also use a single spare output as a connection to the elevator controls. Arrange with the elevator tech that when the contact is open, the floors are free. Closed contact means we control them. Then he configures his relays and such to accomplish it. If you prefer not to add any wiring or extra outputs, you might use a combination of AIC, events, etc. Check out Tech Tip G066 (if you can find it) for some ideas.

Using a Thermistor Sensor on an MR Controller

Issue Using a Thermistor Sensor on an MR Controller Environment I/NET MR Controllers Cause You may use a thermistor sensor in place of an I/STAT for room temperature readings only Resolution You may use a thermistor sensor in place of an I/STAT, only if it reads temperatures in space temperature range. Reason being, the stat port has comm line directly to the processor of the controller. If a sensor is used that reads either extremely high or low readings, they can disrupt the processor and cause controller reconfigurations.

Can a thermistor be used on the stat port of a 7716 or 7718 to read very high or very low temperatures?

Issue Can a thermistor be used on the stat port of a 7716 or 7718 to read very high or very low temperatures? Environment 7716 7718 Cause The reason is the same as for the MR. The stat port has a comm line connection directly to the processor of the controller. Sensors reading extremely high or low ranges can disrupt the processor of the controller. Resolution A sensor should not be used on the stat port to read anything besides space temperatures. If a sensor in these ranges is needed, use another input on the controller.
