Can SIGNAL produce a Start command to a Network 8000 DPT block four times a day, every day of the year, without investing many hours in programming?

Issue A custom application requires that SIGNAL be programmed to trigger a DPT block in a Network 8000 GCM four times a day every day of the year. Can this be done without manually entering four overrides via the Calendar program for every day of the year? Environment SIGNAL (all versions) Cause Customer wants to know if SIGNAL-to-GCM communications has failed at anytime during a 24 hour period.  The on-site GCM has a modem and can dial-out alarms to a pager.  A DPT block has been configured with a timer such that if it's not "started", an alarm is generated.  The Start command comes from SIGNAL every four hours and is reset to a Stop condition within the GCM, after the timer expires and the block has been interrogated. Resolution Calendar overrides can minimize the amount of time required to create a Start command several times a day, every day. The override is given and Start/End date and time.  The date field includes a "year".  So, the override can apply for several years. It can be linked to a WEEK or OSS block in the GCM and be given override commands for each day of the week. The override event is a START and the duration is programmable in hours and minutes.  Up to six events per day are possible. Setting up a multi-year override for every day of the year and with multiple events per day will take only a few minutes to program.

Issue Can jar files from Niagara R2 version 532 be used with a UNC running version 330? Product Line TAC IA Series Environment Niagara (all versions) Cause Fixing a known issue with an upgrade to a newer jar file, but maintaining the current installed version. Resolution Only jar files from the same build of Niagara are recommended. For example: If version 330 is installed in a UNC, then only jar files ending in 3xx are to be used. If version 532 is installed in a UNC, then only jar files ending in 5xx are to be used.

What is the quickest way to determine the minimum dependencies of a Niagara G3 module?

Issue An ENC or ENS is installed with version 3.3.xx  A module is required and it is listed as version 3.4.xx.  Without installing the module, what is the quickest way to determine the module's minimum dependencies? Environment Niagara G3 (all versions) Cause A newer release of an installed module corrects known issues. Resolution Make a copy of the module and rename the extension from .jar to .zip. Open it and access the "meta-inf" folder. In the meta-inf folder, a file called "module.xml" will be listed.  Open it. Issue Can I upgrade the ENC-410 or ENC-520 memory in the field or return to the factory to have the memory increased? Environment I/A Series G3, ENC-410, ENC-520 Cause ENC-410 and ENC-520 controllers prior to May 2010 were manufactured with standard memory (32 MB Flash and 128 MB RAM).  ENC-410 and ENC-520 controllers manufactured since May 2010 include the extended memory as standard (128 MB Flash and 256 MB RAM). Manufactured with extended memory: ENC-410-1 s/n 236187B or greater ENC-520-2 s/n 263122B or greater Resolution The memory cannot be modified in the field and there is no factory exchange or upgrade option available.  Purchase of a new ENC will be required.

Issue InfinityOutput that has been set to ON by a schedule and then set to OFF manually (or from a Graphics) randomly turns back to ON Environment All CXs All i2s All b3s Cause Anything that causes the schedule to get re-evaluated will set the output value from the schedule. Resolution To take control of the output away from the schedule set the output state to disabled. To return the output to schedule control set its value backup to the schedule value and re-enable it.

Upgrading from SX8000 to Cyberstation 1.93

Issue When upgrading from SX8000 to Cyberstation 1.93,  with over 600 reports for SX8000 that need to be upgraded to Cyberstation. Environment Cyberstation LAN or StandAlone Cause A site has been running SX8000 and is upgrading to Cyberstation 1.93. There are over 600 reports that the customer wants upgraded to Cyberstation. Resolution There is no auto-conversion program that will upgrade the reports from SX8000 to Cyberstation. Keywords will be an issue. There are over 600 reports that must be upgraded manually. There is no automatic upgrade for reports.

Epibuilder Dynamic Text fields are not displaying the correct attribute values.

Issue The DynamicText fields on the card are not displaying the correct attribute information.   The DynamicText fields that displays Info1 information is displaying the value from another attribute. Environment Continuum EpiBuilder Cause Data fields mislabeled in Personnel Manager. Resolution Correct the labeling of the data fields in Personnel Manager > Configure > Customize attributes.

Enterprise Server not able to open connection to a UNC

Issue When attempting to make a link from the Enterprise Server to the UNC the Server would lock up.  The UNC can be accessed over the network with WorkPlace Pro and all address book data is confirmed to be correct.  Environment I/A Series R2 Niagara Cause System.properties file was found to be empty. Resolution Copy a complete system.properties file from a functional UNC, install it's contents into the UNC exhibiting the issue and reboot the UNC.

Issue The current version of the VAS client cannot query for records for years beyond 2010. There are two versions of the VAS Client upgrade on The Exchange Download Center. How do I determine which version of the VAS client is needed to update a site? Environment I/A Series R2 Enterprise Server Vykon Alarm Service Client 2.4x Vykon Alarm Service Client  3.xx Cause The Query Wizard in the VAS 2.4 system could not query record dates beyond 2010. Resolution VAS Client 2.50 -- The VAS_2.50_Client.zip file contains the VAS 2.50 Client Installer and associated Enterprise Server vas service module (vas-2.301.532.v2.jar). VAS 2.50 is for use with Enterprise Servers that utilize database management systems including Cloudscape, MSDE, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle. If currently using VAS 2.4x, upgrade to vas-2.301.532.v2 jar and VAS 2.50 client. If currently using VAS 3.xx, do not install this version. Download and upgrade to vas-2.301.532.v3.jar and VAS 3.92 client. VAS Client 3.92 -- The VAS_3.92_Client.zip file contains the VAS 3.92 Client Installer and associated Enterprise Server vas service module (vas-2.301.532.v3.jar). VAS 3.92 is for use with Enterprise Servers that utilize MSDE, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle database management systems only. VAS 3.92 Is not compatible with Cloudscape. If currently using VAS 3.xx, upgrade to vas-2.301.532.v3 jar and VAS 3.92 client. If currently using VAS 2.4x, do not install this version. Resolution Sigma server to Sigma NNN / controller communications - User Datagram Protocol (UDP) uses port 49152. Sigma server to Sigma client communications - Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) uses ports 3614 and 8080. Sigma Web client communications - Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) uses ports 80 and 8080, but also uses port 3614.

SysManSMS Server running in a Marathon EverRun Level 3 Solution?

Issue Is SysManSMS Server and VISTA 5.1.7 tested on Windows 2008 R2 running in a Marathon EverRun Level 3 Solution? Environment TAC Vista 5.1.7 SysManSMS Server Cause  The Server software is running on any Windows platform and release, including Embedded Windows.. Resolution The SysManSMS Server is written is C and has no special requirements for the Windows platform. The Server software is running on any Windows platform and release, including Embedded Windows. The software has been certified by Microsoft for Windows 7, and tested for Windows 2008 R2.It will run in both 32-bits and 64-bits (compatibility mode) environments. The compatibility with TAC/Vista is no issue at all. The clean interface between Vista (writing Alert Files) and SysMan picking up the files to process will always work, We have more than 500 TAC/Schneider installations used with Vista. No reported problems. Marathon EverRun Level 3 we do not know at all. As long as this software does not alter the above environments, it will for sure run.

SQL Server errors when installing Cyberstation.

Issue Installing Cyberstation on a Standalone workstation results in SQL Server errors. Environment Cyberstation Standalone. Cause Installing Cyberstation on a StandAlone workstation returns the error "Another version of SQL is installed." The Standalone had Windows 7 installed. Resolution On the Windows 7 workstation, select  Start  > All Programs > System Tools > System Restore.   Select a restore point that pre-dates the Cyberstation install. Once the system has been successfully returned to that restore point, reinstall Cyberstation.

Issue There are 2 different packing types available for ordering when choosing connections for the V241/V341 Environment V241 V341 Cause There is a difference in material used in the gaskets included with the connection packages. Resolution The "Packing, std" is a standard type gasket. "Packing, spec" is intended to be used in primary circuit district heating applications. Material in gasket is PTFE.

Unknown Error received when searching records using the Personnel Manager

Issue On a database with a large number of personnel records, an 'Unknown error' is received when searching personnel using Personnel Manager Environment Continuum Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008 Cause There is a default maximum limitation to the number of records that can be display when searching for records using Personnel Manager. The default maximum is set to 50. If you attempt to increase this number in the New Search screen in Personnel Manager it reverts back to 50. Resolution In order to allow a higher number to work around this error, perform the following steps: Shut down Cyberstation Make a copy of the existing PersonnelManagerCtrlDll.Config (C:\Program Files\Continuum\Common) Use Textpad or Notepad and open the PersonnelManagerCtrlDll.Config file Change the number in the line SearchSection MaxSearchResult=50 (Change this to a larger number closer to the max search results you would expect from the site) Too large of a number can affect system performance of the search. Restart Cyberstation Note: Repeat this procedure for each Cyberstation as needed.

Programme a new Analogue Input (AI) object using object number 252 in a suitable location within the index structure. Set the lookup table to 2000 Choose a suitable short text if one is available, or add a new one possibly as follows "Scan %1.0f SPM" Download the object and review after a minute.
