Issue May I use the same Name for each NPR in the network? Environment I/NET site Cause May I use the same Name for each NPR in the network? Resolution No. Each NPR must be given a unique name. Spaces, underscores and other symbols may not be used. (TCON 209, 2-27)

Issue Are symbols allowed in the name of the NPR 2000? Environment I/NET site Cause Are symbols allowed in the name of the NPR 2000? Resolution No. Spaces, underscores and other symbols may not be used. (TCON209, 2-27)

Issue Can I assign an IP address to each NPR after I place it on the network? Environment I/NET site Cause Can I assign an IP address to each NPR after I place it on the network? Resolution No. A unique IP address must be entered for each NPR before it is connected to the commercial network. (TCON209 2-27)

Issue What does the Subnet Mask field represent in the NPRs editor? Environment I/NET site Cause What does the Subnet Mask field represent in the NPRs editor? Resolution The Subnet Mask field indicates which sections of the IP address are used to indicate the network on which the NPR resides. (TCON209, 2-27)

Issue What may happen if the same IP address is used by more than one NPR? Environment I/NET site Cause What may happen if the same IP address is used by more than one NPR? Resolution A duplicate IP address will cause a system error message in I/NET, and the NPR will not initiate the appropriate LED error code. (TCON 209, 2-27)

Issue Can the NPR's configuration be protected with a Password? Environment I/NET site Cause Can the NPR's configuration be protected with a Password? Resolution Yes. The NPR configuration may be protected with a password to prevent unauthorized changes. (TCON 209, 2-30)

Issue A Schedule in a b3 under an Automation Server does not seem to have the same option to clear events that the Automation Server has or that was present when the same b3 is under a bCX in Continuum. Environment Automation Server b3 controllers Cause There is no option to delete multiple exception events from b3 Schedules similar to what can be done in the Automation Server. Resolution  They will need to be removed individually or wait until the exception event expires which should them remove them from the Schedule.

Issue Does the NPR have a Diagnostic Utility? Environment I/NET site Cause Does the NPR have a Diagnostic Utility? Resolution Yes. The NPR is equipped with a self-diagnostic function that runs every time the unit is powered up. Four LEDs on the upper right side of the unit provide feedback of the progress of this test, and indicate any error conditions. See TCON209, 2-31 and TCON184 NPR Installation Guide.

Issue What is a 78010 Tap? Environment I/NET site Cause What is a 78010 Tap? Resolution The Model 78010 Tap directly connects a workstation to a host LAN. I can also connect a workstation to a controller LAN. This Tap can also be used in conjunction with an external modem for dial-in applications. (Refer to TCON 101).

Issue What is a 7801R Relay Tap? Environment I/NET site Cause What is a 7801R Relay Tap? Resolution This Tap functions identically to the 78010 Host Tap. It differs in that it has two Normally Open (N.O.) relay contact outputs for alarms. Therefore, set the Tap's address and baud rates as you would for the 78010. (TCON 101)

Resolution This series of Taps connect a workstation to controller LAN Taps (Site Taps) through a Direct Distance Dial (DDD) telephone network. They communicate to a companion model in the 7806 Taps, which forms the connection from a workstation to the remote controller LAN. (Refer to TCON 101 Model 7804 Host Taps.)

Resolution These series of Taps connect one or more controller LANs to a workstation through a companion 7804/78041, or to a host LAN through a 7805/78051 Tap using a Direct Distance Dial telephone network. Issue Does Continuum 2.0 SMTP alarm email support encryption? Product Line Andover Continuum Environment SMTP Cyberstation Cause There is a need for encryption on SMTP alarm delivery in Continuum. Resolution Continuum does NOT support encryption for alarm emails sent over SMTP from Cyberstation.
