Wiser Radiator Valve regular click
Hi
I have just added a couple of Wiser valve heads to me system to see how it goes. I can about live with the 2 degree temperature difference (why no -+3 degrees offset setting like Evohome?) but they both have a "click" at roughly every minute. Yes, they briefly whirr (seems very short but the rads get hot...) but even when closed and app has the flame off symbol, every minute they click, click, click. As you may guess it is driving me crazy.
Any ideas or advice? Earplugs not really an option as if all of the valves behave like these two I can't escape and do need to hear sometimes 🙂
I'm not too bothered as it is a good feeling to hear the system striving for energy efficiency. I guess if the motor speed could be slowed down while maintaining the necessary torque, the operation could be made quieter.
I have a different problem with the valve itself knocking or oscillating as the TRV approaches set point. This is on account of one way valves being fitted to the wrong leg. To get round this is a bit crude (but temporary). I set a high set point that the schedule will never achieve, so the valve remains fully open until the scheduled "off" time. Using Insights you can see how many degrees per hour a room will heat by and that informs the choice of the set point. I suspect this would work in your situation.
