Objective The Alpha Channel in the Properties of some Objects can be used to achieve transparency. We can leverage on this characteristic to create a transparent Button that overlays a Symbol. The Button is then configured to launch a Faceplate. The result is a Graphical Symbol that when clicked, opens a Faceplate which you can then customized for various other operational purposes, such as controlling an asset. Issue Using the GroupManagement/GroupControl objects to configure group/subgroup route & sequences – EPE 2021 Resolution This document will help you understand and use the $GroupMGTGP/$GroupCTLGP objects to quickly configure start/stop sequences of assets, routes and also generate subgroups that are part of the main sequence. Issue Many AVEVA Industrial Graphic symbols supplied within the AVEVA.IndustrialGraphics library can display the Asset Label (Instance Name), however by default it is not configured. In the following example the Label on the valve symbol should be V003. Resolution The following Knowledge Base article details the steps required to display the Asset Label (Instance Name) on a symbol. Step 1 – Enable the Label display Open the symbol within the CAT and select it. In Properties select the LabelType and set to ObjectTagname Step 2 – Add the ability to enable / display the visibility for the Label Click on the Object, right-click and select Custom Properties. Select the LabelVisible Default value to MyViewApp.Settings.LabelVisible Save and close the Symbol. Create / Update the new template in AVEVA System Platform by using Sync AutoMapped . Once the Template has been created in AVEVA System Platform, use the CAT in your applications and synchronize to System Platform via the normal method, using the Deploy and Diagnostic Tab. Deploy and test - the Label can be turned on and off by selecting the banner symbol at the top Use the Label slide switch to turn Visibility on or off. Issue LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a protocol used to access and manage directory information services over a network. It is needed primarily for managing and accessing centralized directory information in a networked environment. Resolution Instead of managing users separately on each system, LDAP allows all user data (usernames, passwords, roles) to be stored in one place. It is also designed to handle large numbers of users and devices. Applications and services can authenticate users against a single LDAP directory, reducing complexity and improving security. Issue When reading a string from the logic and displaying it in EcoStruxure Automation Expert, sometimes the user needs to change it from the HMI, it is not natively possible using drag & drop whilst creating a CAT.
