Issue The EmailHandling library implements function blocks to send and receive emails with the controller application support secure and unsecure communication with an email server. Since it is not recommended to use unsecure communication over public networks and above all over the internet. Furthermore, the most popular public email servers do not support unsecure communication. Therefore, a direct communication between the M241/M251 controller and the public email server is not possible. Resolution To address this issue, the recommended third-party tool to use is stunnel. Stunnel is a proxy designed to add TLS encryption functionality to existing clients (controllers) and servers (public email) without any changes in the program’s code. Stunnel uses the OpenSSL library for cryptography, so it supports whatever cryptographic algorithms are compiled into the library. Issue References are widely used in programming, especially to efficiently pass large or mutable data as arguments to procedures, or to share such data among various uses. A reference may point to a variable or record that contains references to other data. This idea is the basis of indirect addressing and of many linked data structures, such as linked lists. Resolution There are many advantages of using variables reference over pointer variables (like in C++ programming) such as: A reference variable does not consume any extra memory. It has the same memory address as the variable it refers to. While a pointer needs extra space for itself. In order to access the value of the referenced variable using pointer, we need to use a dereferencing operator whereas we can do the same using reference variable without any dereferencing method. Reference variables are cleaner and modish as compared to the pointers; they can also be used while passing in the function as arguments, known as call by references. Issue Many AVEVA Industrial Graphic symbols supplied within the AVEVA.IndustrialGraphics library can display the Asset Label (Instance Name), however by default it is not configured. In the following example the Label on the valve symbol should be V003. Step 1 – Enable the Label display Open the symbol within the CAT and select it. In Properties select the LabelType and set to ObjectTagname Step 2 – Add the ability to enable / display the visibility for the Label Click on the Object, right-click and select Custom Properties. Select the LabelVisible Default value to MyViewApp.Settings.LabelVisible Save and close the Symbol. Create / Update the new template in AVEVA System Platform by using Sync AutoMapped . Once the Template has been created in AVEVA System Platform, use the CAT in your applications and synchronize to System Platform via the normal method, using the Deploy and Diagnostic Tab. Deploy and test - the Label can be turned on and off by selecting the banner symbol at the top Use the Label slide switch to turn Visibility on or off. Issue The issue of IP address of the Ethernet port and USB port (with the default IP: 192.168.200.1) interfaces of the M262 controller. Issue When reading a string from the logic and displaying it in EcoStruxure Automation Expert, sometimes the user needs to change it from the HMI, it is not natively possible using drag & drop whilst creating a CAT.
