Issue With today’s control system design and engineering techniques, it is easy to overwhelm a plant operator with alarms. Compliance to Alarm management standards and guidelines like ISA 18.2 and EEMUA 191 is also a key requirement. Alarm management is a continuous process and the alarm system itself is monitored during plant operation & maintenance for optimal performance. Alarm Adviser is a web-based alarm analysis tool that helps rationalize and identify nuisance alarms in the supervisory alarm system. Issue Historically, picking a date in Citect has always been achieved using the Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 Active X object that comes along with most Windows installation. However, as time progresses on, this Active X is no longer as popular as it used to be. Often, projects which uses the Active X, which are migrated from older systems into a new Windows 10 or above environment will fail on Compile. And installing the Active X is often difficult because it may require installing a whole bunch of un-related software just to get it. And many times, even with the Active X already in the environment, the project still does not Compile, or fail to run properly. Resolution There is an alternative to using Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 Active X and this article is to introduce how to use the Calendar Genie in lib_controls Library to do that. It will involve the implementation of a Callback Function, and this article explains how this is to be created and used. Issue Automation devices with their DTM are typically managed by EcoStruxure™ Control Expert Classic from the DTM Browser at each controller's level. In a multiple controllers system architecture, users must manage the device configuration information individually from each of its *.STU file. Resolution With Topology Manager functionality, all automation Devices (with DTMs) can be managed very easily at the Topology Manager system level.This makes the device configuration independent from *.STU file. Moving away from the traditional EcoStruxure™ Control Expert Classic using the DTM Browser of each controller's level. Issue This document will help you in the integration and configuration of the IO.MBTCP driver for AVEVA System Platform as well as in the integration of the AVEVA Insight cloud historization solution.
