Issue Architecture using Modicon M580 with PTP protocol (PMEGPS0100) and the solution accuracy Resolution The EcoStruxure architecture and platform is open and interoperable, as noted in this document. The transparency of the Modcion M580 ePAC controller enables multiple architectures without the need for switches while maintaining network transparency. As it is open and transparent, it allows the use of a third-party module from Monaghan (approved) using the PTP protocol to guarantee an accuracy of 1ms for the SOE (Sequence Of Events) digital inputs. Issue References are widely used in programming, especially to efficiently pass large or mutable data as arguments to procedures, or to share such data among various uses. A reference may point to a variable or record that contains references to other data. This idea is the basis of indirect addressing and of many linked data structures, such as linked lists. Resolution There are many advantages of using variables reference over pointer variables (like in C++ programming) such as: A reference variable does not consume any extra memory. It has the same memory address as the variable it refers to. While a pointer needs extra space for itself. In order to access the value of the referenced variable using pointer, we need to use a dereferencing operator whereas we can do the same using reference variable without any dereferencing method. Reference variables are cleaner and modish as compared to the pointers; they can also be used while passing in the function as arguments, known as call by references. Issue Cannot access the EcoStruxure Control Expert Security Editor tool because of SystemAdmin's password being lost or forgotten. Resolution Using the attached article its possible to clear the Security Editor database properly to enable login again. Issue Historically, picking a date in Citect has always been achieved using the Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 Active X object that comes along with most Windows installation. However, as time progresses on, this Active X is no longer as popular as it used to be. Often, projects which uses the Active X, which are migrated from older systems into a new Windows 10 or above environment will fail on Compile. And installing the Active X is often difficult because it may require installing a whole bunch of un-related software just to get it. And many times, even with the Active X already in the environment, the project still does not Compile, or fail to run properly. Resolution There is an alternative to using Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 Active X and this article is to introduce how to use the Calendar Genie in lib_controls Library to do that. It will involve the implementation of a Callback Function, and this article explains how this is to be created and used. Issue You're targeting a palletizing application or an application where you have evenly spaced action points (e.g. drilling in material working) and don't want to teach all points separately. Resolution The Pallet application instruction offers an interface to easily teach endpoints and distributes points in between evenly, based on the instruction setup. The instruction helps setup the action points and encapsulates instructions to be performed at each waypoint.
