How often does the Gateway poll monitored devices?

The default polling interval for the Gateway is every 5 minutes for all devices. You can configure 1 minute polling for up to 25 devices.

The Gateway registers for SNMP traps on APC devices with the Network Management Card. Alarms on these devices are registered within seconds.

Modbus and 3rd party devices rely on the configured polling cycle to register alarms.

Device attributes

The Gateway polls and automatically updates device attributes once every hour. This is not user configurable.

If you have recently updated the firmware on an APC device by a method other than through IT Expert, you might see that the firmware version has not updated in the Gateway or in IT Expert.

To manually update device attributes in Gateway:

1. Log in to the Gateway.
2. Click a device and go to the Details tab.
3. Click Retrieve details.
