How to update the firmware on a Smart-UPS connected to EcoStruxure IT

Smart-UPS connected to EcoStruxure IT using an NMC   If your Smart-UPS is connected to EcoStruxure IT using a Network Management Card and you subscribe to IT Expert, you can update the NMC firmware directly in IT Expert. Log in to IT Expert and go to Management > Firmware Update. See Firmware update   To update the firmware on the Smart-UPS device, use a serial or USB connection and the Smart-UPS Firmware Upgrade Wizard.   Smart-UPS connected to EcoStruxure IT using the ethernet port   If you registered your Smart-UPS with EcoStruxure IT using its ethernet port, you update the firmware on the device using a serial or USB connection and the Smart-UPS Firmware Upgrade Wizard. How to remove a Smart-UPS from EcoStruxure IT

Remove your Smart-UPS using the EcoStruxure IT web app   Log in to your EcoStruxure IT account. Go to Devices. Select the Smart-UPS you want to remove to see device details. In Connection types in the lower left, click Remove.   NOTE: If the Smart-UPS was discovered in the EcoStruxure IT Gateway, you must remove it from the Gateway if you no longer want to monitor it.   Remove your Smart-UPS using the EcoStruxure IT mobile app   Log in to the EcoStruxure IT mobile app. Tap Devices. How to register a Smart-UPS using the EcoStruxure IT mobile app

You can use the EcoStruxure IT mobile app to register your Smart-UPS in EcoStruxure IT when you connect it using the SmartConnect port.   Before you begin   Set up your Smart-UPS and connect it to your network using the SmartConnect port. See the instructions that came with your product.   After you power on the Smart-UPS and connect the ethernet cable to your network, wait a few minutes to allow the Smart-UPS to connect to the EcoStruxure IT cloud.   NOTE: If you connected the Smart-UPS to the SmartConnect Portal, you must remove it before you register the Smart-UPS with EcoStruxure IT.  See Can I register my SmartConnect-compatible UPS with more than one Schneider Electric account?   Create an EcoStruxure IT account if you don't already have one.   Go to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage and click Sign up. Enter your email address, password, and your mobile phone number including the country code. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the EcoStruxure IT mobile app Choose SMS as the authentication method to get a code on your phone to proceed. Create an organization to complete your registration. Note: Do not download the EcoStruxure IT Gateway.   Instructions   Log in to the EcoStruxure IT mobile app.   If you don’t have any devices connected to EcoStruxure IT, you'll see this screen.   Click Register.  OR If you have already connected devices to EcoStruxure IT, tap Devices, and tap the three dots in the top right corner.   Click Register Smart-UPS. How to delete a Smart-UPS from the SmartConnect portal

To delete a Smart-UPS from your account on the SmartConnect portal:   Log in to the Smart-Connect portal at http://smartconnect.apc.com Find the UPS in the list and click Delete UPS.   This action deletes all UPS data, including UPS profile details, UPS event logs, and warranty extension details. This action cannot be undone.   Any events that occur after the UPS is registered with a subsequent account will be logged to the event log, and any configured email notifications will be sent, as expected.   See the SmartConnect help center for more detailed information.

Does a Smart-UPS with a SmartConnect ethernet port count as a node in IT Expert?

Yes. One Smart-UPS with a SmartConnect ethernet port counts as one node in IT Expert.   Each Smart-UPS is counted as a node regardless of whether it is connected to EcoStruxure IT by its SmartConnect port or discovered in the Gateway using an NMC, or, for some models, Modbus.   An EcoStruxure IT Expert license is required.

Can I register my SmartConnect-compatible UPS with more than one Schneider Electric account?

  No. You can add a SmartConnect-compatible UPS to only one Schneider Electric account at a time, for example, register your UPS with only EcoStruxure IT or add your UPS to only the SmartConnect Portal.   To transfer a UPS from one account to another, delete the UPS from one account before adding it to another account. Please note that historical data may be lost.

Monitoring APC Smart-UPS in EcoStruxure IT

You can use IT Expert to monitor your APC Smart-UPS using its ethernet port or using a Network Management Card (NMC). Note: You must be logged in to EcoStruxure IT as an Administrator to add the Smart-UPS to your organization.   If you connected the Smart-UPS to the EcoStruxure IT SmartConnect Portal, you must remove it before you register the Smart-UPS with EcoStruxure IT.  See Can I register my SmartConnect-compatible UPS with more than one Schneider Electric account?   Connect to EcoStruxure IT using its ethernet port   Set up the Smart-UPS and connect it to your network using its ethernet port. After you power on the Smart-UPS and connect the ethernet cable to your network, wait for a few minutes to allow the Smart-UPS to connect to the EcoStruxure IT cloud. See the user manual for your UPS    Go to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage and log in to your existing account. Note: If you are new to EcoStruxure IT, click Sign up to create an EcoStruxure IT account. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the EcoStruxure IT mobile app. Choose SMS as the authentication method to get a code on your phone to proceed. Do not download the EcoStruxure IT Gateway.   Go to Devices > Actions > Register using SmartConnect.   8689305772573_360011949538.png   Enter the ID and Product key from the label of the Smart-UPS. Tip: You can use the EcoStruxure IT mobile app to scan the QR code on the UPS label.  Click Register.    8689305779101_360011949538.png   8689305890717_360011949538.png   It can take up to five minutes for sensor values to appear.   Device data from Smart-UPSs connected via ethernet port is pushed to EcoStruxure IT every 5 minutes. Alarms are pushed as soon as they occur.   The EcoStruxure IT Expert Device Security assessment and the firmware update and device configuration features require a Network Management Card. These features are not available for Smart-UPS connected via ethernet port. NOTE: You can also use the EcoStruxure IT mobile app to connect your Smart-UPS via its ethernet port.  See How to register a Smart-UPS using the EcoStruxure IT mobile app   Connect to EcoStruxure IT using a Network Management Card (NMC)   If the Smart-UPS connects to your network using a Network Management Card (NMC), you discover it in the EcoStruxure IT Gateway using SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.
