You can use IT Expert to monitor your APC Smart-UPS using its ethernet port or using a Network Management Card (NMC).

Note: You must be logged in to EcoStruxure IT as an Administrator to add the Smart-UPS to your organization.

If you connected the Smart-UPS to the EcoStruxure IT SmartConnect Portal, you must remove it before you register the Smart-UPS with EcoStruxure IT.
See Can I register my SmartConnect-compatible UPS with more than one Schneider Electric account?

Connect to EcoStruxure IT using its ethernet port

  1. Set up the Smart-UPS and connect it to your network using its ethernet port.

After you power on the Smart-UPS and connect the ethernet cable to your network, wait for a few minutes to allow the Smart-UPS to connect to the EcoStruxure IT cloud.
See the user manual for your UPS

  2. Go to https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage and log in to your existing account.
Note: If you are new to EcoStruxure IT, click Sign up to create an EcoStruxure IT account.
Follow the on-screen instructions to download the EcoStruxure IT mobile app.
Choose SMS as the authentication method to get a code on your phone to proceed.
Do not download the EcoStruxure IT Gateway.

  3. Go to Devices > Actions > Register using SmartConnect.

  4. Enter the ID and Product key from the label of the Smart-UPS.
Tip: You can use the EcoStruxure IT mobile app to scan the QR code on the UPS label.

    Click Register.

It can take up to five minutes for sensor values to appear.

Device data from Smart-UPSs connected via ethernet port is pushed to EcoStruxure IT every 5 minutes. Alarms are pushed as soon as they occur.

The EcoStruxure IT Expert Device Security assessment and the firmware update and device configuration features require a Network Management Card. These features are not available for Smart-UPS connected via ethernet port.

NOTE: You can also use the EcoStruxure IT mobile app to connect your Smart-UPS via its ethernet port.  See How to register a Smart-UPS using the EcoStruxure IT mobile app

Connect to EcoStruxure IT using a Network Management Card (NMC)

If the Smart-UPS connects to your network using a Network Management Card (NMC), you discover it in the EcoStruxure IT Gateway using SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.

Do not use the SmartConnect port to connect to EcoStruxure IT if the UPS uses an NMC.
