Upload a partial framework *.FWN using ION Setup 3.0

Hello everybody!

I've created a function in Designer using the option "Copy to Framework". Now, I have a file with the extension *.FWN. Our customer doesn't have ION Enterprise so I need he can upload this *.FWN using ION Setup.

I've seen in ION Setup when I'm going to send a new template, there is the option to change the file extension that you'll send, at this point you can choose beetwen *.DCF and *.FWN.

After choose *FWN, I was trying to send the *FWN created previously but appears a compatibility error.

Could somebody help me?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately ION Setup can only upload complete device framework files and not partial ones.  ION Designer allows users to specify how to handle overlapping of existing modules (either overwriting the existing modules or just appending the partial modules to available ones).  ION Setup does not have this capability and uses a process which speeds up downloading but at the cost of unable to maintain the existing template.

The only other thing I can suggest other than the customer getting ION Designer himself is for you to locate the same meter as the customer, paste his template onto that device and then use ION Designer yourselft to paste your partial framework (again needing to decide whether to overwrite or append the new modules).  Once completed, you could save the complete template as either a DCF or FWN file and send that complete file to the user who could use ION Setup to download to his meter.

The problem is that this procedure have to be carry out in 100 devices without clean its memory.

Please let me know if you know other ways to solve this trouble.

Thanks for your fast answer.
