Our customer asked us "Is the isolator necessary when using 4-20mA output with PM8000 analog module?".
I imagine that PM8000 doesn't have internal isolator and (analog output is not insulated by PM8000.) the receiver of the analog output have to isolate it if necessary.
Is it correct?

Okada

The terminals of the METSEPM89M0024 should never be directly connected to a "hazardous live" voltage.
The expansion module does have functional isolation (not rated as a safety barrier) between the meter and the two analog outputs.
NOTE: The two analog output ports share a "common" return. ie. Q1- and Q2- are tied together internally.
Each of the four analog input ports each have functional isolation (non-safety) from each other and the rest of the product.
