Hello Robert Lee,
I think you are able to help me in this case.
Most of the time I'm getting this error trying to paste a DCF file in a meter (ION8XXX series), after to select the dcf file and to initiate dcf pasting this message is shown:
Any idea what is happening here?. I've updated to the last ION Setup version and the error persist.
Thanks!.
Adelmo

Hi there,
From the look of the exception, it seems ION Setup is attempting to write to a file (likely the TEMPLATE.LOG file) but is unable to do so for some reason. Check that the Windows user you have logged on with has full read/write permissions for the ION Setup Config folder (this is typically C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup but you can view the location from Tools -> Options).
You could also email me (Robert.lee@schneider-electric.com) the DCF file you are pasting and I can look into if there is something that isn't working correctly (you could also send me your TEMPLATE.LOG file if it isn't the cause of the file I/O error).

The final solution then is to use the Administrator account and grant appropriate access control to the user(s) you wish to allow access to that folder. Use Windows Explorer, open up the folder properties and click on the Security tab. Add permissions for the user (or group if you wish to have a set of users) and grant them full control.
Here is what it should like after I've added the "Users" group to have the needed access.
The latest installer should do this automatically but if you upgrading from an older version, since the folder already exists, the appropriate rights/access might not be assigned properly.
