ION Setup will only let you choose port number 1 to 16 when connecting using a modem.
Any way this can be extended?
Client has a couple of digiboxes and modems configured up to com port 40.

Typically C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder not typically visible using Windows Explorer.
But in case you are storing the file elsewhere, use the following steps to confirm:
1. Click on the checkbox icon on the ION Setup toolbar (or select Tools -> Options from the menus).
2. This should display the following dialog. Highlight the bottom edit box and select <Ctrl> + C to copy to the clipboard.
3. Open Windows Explorer and paste into the address bar at the top. You should be able to find the IONSETUP.INI file there (or at least some files of some sort). If not, then the installer likely could not install the requisite files and you will likely need to reinstall using the Administrator account.

This is controlled using the IONSETUP.INI.
Using Notepad (or any other text editor), go to the C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup folder and open the IONSETUP.INI file.
Near the top of the file you'll find the section heading [Communications] and you'll see the following lines:
[Communications]
SerialPorts=16
Edit the number to a higher value and restart ION Setup.
Note that there is a maximum # of sites that ION Setup presently supports (this has been growing during the evolution of ION Setup and presently is over 4000) and increasing the number dedicated to serial port use reduces the number available for Ethernet use (both direct and those used for gateways) but unless you have an extremely large number, this shouldn't be an issue.

Hi Robert,
We have checked on a couple of versions of ION Setup but there is no IONSETUP.INI file.
(Including 3.0 Build number 3.018214.03).
Is it particular to a particular version?
Thanks,
Paula
