Is there any more convenient way to set DNP 3.0 serial using Setup Assistant menu only without switching to advance mode the set the DSO ?
We were working on dozen of ION8800 those share data to DNP master we have set all meter even though we copy framework then paste to anothers luckily the map remains in the framework but the comm. port setting and DSO cannot be overwriten we have to start from beginning for each meter.
In our area DNP serial is still active.

The problem is that Communication settings are not stored in templates/frameworks and do not automatically switch. To compound the issue, the DSO Comm Port setting can not be modified unless the Comm Port protocol is already been set to DNP 3.0 setting (this is to ensure that the DNP stack used by the device is already functioning when the setup register is activating).
Thus this is why ION Setup does NOT copy the DSO setting in the template and must be manually turned on once the template has been pasted. Steps are:
1. Paste template.
2. Switch appropriate comm port protocol to DNP (this might not even be the same one that would of been in the template even).
3. Switch DNP Comm Port setup register to match appropriate port selected in step #2.
The DNP Setup Assistant will allow you to do step #3 without having to go into Advanced Mode (steps 1 and 2 are done elsewhere in the Setup Assistant usually).

Thank you Rodert, one more problem I encountered when I changed scale by using setup assistance menu select 0.1, 0.01 negative number was place in IONZero setup register cause error I have to use ratio of IONFull/DNPFull instead.
