DCE appliances released in 2024 do not support DCE versions prior to 7.9.2
The Dell PowerEdge R250 server now used for Data Center Expert Basic (AP9465) and Standard (AP9470) appliances supports UEFI boot only. It does not support the BIOS boot option.
To accommodate the change in the server appliance in 2024, DCE 7.9.2 and newer were updated to use both the BIOS and UEFI boot options when deploying on a new appliance.
DCE versions prior to 7.9.2 use only the BIOS boot option so cannot be deployed on the Dell PowerEdge R250 server.
Schneider Electric recommends that you keep your Data Center Expert software up to date.
If you have an existing appliance running a DCE version prior to 7.9.2 and want to transfer your configuration to a new appliance, you cannot deploy directly on the Dell PowerEdge R250.
Note: The virtual machine deployment option of DCE is not affected.
Dell servers used for the DCE Enterprise server appliance (AP9475) in the future may also have similar limitations.
Use the Dell service tag number to verify your server model.
Dell service tag on DCE server appliances
The Dell service tag number is the unique identifier for your DCE server. It is on the bottom or side of the case.
Go to the Dell website and enter the service tag number from your DCE server to see the server model and other details. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us
