Web credentials for monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances must be configured on the EcoStruxure IT Gateway Settings page. See how
This is required for communication with NetBotz cameras. Otherwise, cameras will not be discovered.
Note: Once you configure Web credentials, you must rediscover previously monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances to view video clips.
Select the location where you want to view video clips.
An interactive graph shows the number of clips for a time frame you select.
Hover your cursor over the graph to see details. Zoom to explore further.
Click Custom dates to define the date range for the graph and the table.
Click Simple to select from: Past hour, Past 6 hours, Past 24 hours, Past 7 days, Past 30 days.
Use the Search field to filter by Camera name, parent Device name and Camera location.
Select the clip Duration (All, or from 0 - 60 seconds) to filter video clips to see only what is important to you.
Tip: To filter video clips that are longer than 60 seconds, select All and then use the slider to select the minimum range. Leave the slider at 60 - no upper limit will be applied.
Delete video clips
IT Expert Administrators can delete clips from IT Expert. Check one or more boxes in the list and click Delete.
IMPORTANT: Video clips are stored for a maximum of 30 days.
Video clip details
Click a thumbnail to view the video clip and see details about the camera and the time the clip started and ended.
You can Export the clip as an MPG file or as a zip archive that contains the individual frame images.
Note: You cannot export clips from the EcoStruxure IT mobile app.
Do not refresh the browser or log out of ITE while the MPG download is in progress. Otherwise, you must download the file again.
MPG files can be played in OS native players and video applications that support the MPEG-1 codec.
Clip length
Video clips are a fixed length pre-capture and post-capture as configured on the NetBotz appliance.
In the IT Expert video clips, video clips capture up to the first 59 seconds of an incident with a properly configured NetBotz appliance with post capture set to 59 seconds.
It is recommended that you examine your post-capture settings to make sure they are long enough to serve their needs.
The sum of pre- and post-capture must be less than or equal to 60 seconds, with a minimum of 1 second pre-capture required.
To capture the most meaningful length clips:
Looking down a row or similar camera positioning: Configure ~30 seconds of post-capture.
Rack, wiring closet, or other close up view: Configure ~10-20 seconds of post-capture.
The NetBotz will only trigger another clip after motion clears and is triggered again.
NetBotz alarms and video clips
When NetBotz alarms are configured to generate video clips, the recording starts when the action begins and finishes recording when the action ends and the alarm clears.
For this reason, active alarms never link to video clips on the ITE Alarms page. Only cleared alarms link to video clips generated by alarms that are configured to generate clips.
Troubleshooting
Click Not seeing your video clips? on the Physical security page in ITE to see troubleshooting tips.
Make sure to verify the Timeframe you selected on the Physical security page in ITE.
Log in to your NetBotz appliance and make sureDate and Timesettings are correct.
Note: You mustRestart Devicefor these settings to apply to the camera.
Make sure the software on all the Gateways in your organization is up to date. In ITE, go to Administration > Gateways.
Make sure the NetBotz 75x camera credentials on all the Gateways in your organization are configured properly.
1. Log in to the Gateway.
2. Go toSettingsto configure Web credentials for the camera.
3. Go toDiscover Devicesand rediscover the NetBotz 75x devices.
For each Gateway on a single network, at least 5 Mbps (megabits per second) upload and download speed is recommended to smoothly upload video clips from all connected and supported NetBotz cameras. On less stable networks, more bandwidth may be required.
IT Expert polls for new video clips every five minutes. It is possible that a video clip may not be displayed for five minutes after it is generated.
