Design your own dashboard in IT Expert

Administrators and users with Editor and Operator permission can design dashboards in IT Expert and set a default dashboard for the organization to get an instant overview of the most important information. You can create location-specific dashboards and widgets that show graphs for sensors from monitored devices or key values based on a single sensor.    idea_icon_360012327817.png Use quotes to filter lists by exact phrase. For example, "phase 3"   Inactivity timeout   Administrators can set the inactivity timeout to 30 minutes (the default), 2 hours, or 8 hours on the Administration > Organization tab. This setting affects all users in the organization. Note: Allowing more than 30 minutes of inactivity is considered a security risk and is not recommended.   When the browser is set to display the dashboard in full screen mode, the dashboard continuously updates although the user is eventually logged out.   Create a dashboard   Log in to IT Expert.   Click New dashboard in the upper right corner.     Name your dashboard and select a time span. Click Create.     Now you're ready to add widgets to the empty dashboard.   Add widgets to the dashboard   You can add different types of widgets to your dashboard: Graphs; Single value; or one of the default widgets: Map, Alarm count, Latest alarms or Custom text.   Graph   If you want a visual overview of one or more sensors from your monitored devices, add a Graph to your dashboard. This example shows battery time remaining for three different UPSs in a graph.    Click Add widget > Graph.     Name your widget and go to Add series to find the sensors. Choose Single sensors, Calculated sensors, or Static value. Tip: Click Help in the list to learn more about math functions on ITE dashboards.         Select the sensors from the list you want to monitor. Use the search bar above the list or the filters to the left to narrow the selection.   Click Save.     Add names for the legend and click Add. Tip: You can choose to hide or show the legend and the x or y axes on the graph.     Choose Save to keep the dashboard changes.    Single value   If you want to see key values based on single sensor values, you can add a Single value to your dashboard. This example shows battery time remaining for three different UPSs as single values.  Click Add widget > Single value.   Name your widget and go to Add series to find the sensors. Choose Single sensors, Calculated sensors, or Static value.    For the example Single sensor option was selected. Select the sensor you want to monitor.     Name the legend and click Add.     Repeat step 1 - 4 to add single value widgets for the remaining sensors. You can change the position and the order of the sensors by dragging them on the grid, see Resize and rearrange widgets on the dashboard for more details.     Choose Save to keep the dashboard changes.    Default widgets   You can also add preconfigured ready-to-use widgets to your dashboard. Click Add widget and select from the following:   Graph Single value Map Alarm count Latest alarms Custom text   Set a dashboard as the default for the organization   Administrators and users with Editor permission on All locations can set a dashboard as the default for the organization.   Click Default on the dashboard to select or deselect a dashboard as the default. The dashboard you set as the default displays for all users in your organization when they log in to IT Expert. Otherwise, the Overview dashboard is displayed.   Dashboards you create are shown as tabs in alphabetical order, after the Overview. Click More... to display the entire list.

Math functions on ITE dashboards

When you add a graph widget or single value widget to an ITE dashboard, you can use math functions to add calculations.    idea_icon_360034105233.png  Use quotes to filter lists by exact phrase. For example, "phase 3"   ITE_math_functions_360034105233.png   Sensor Adding a sensor shows the sensor values for the duration you select in a graph widget, or the latest sensor value in a single value widget.   Static value Select static value to show a single value in a widget, or a horizontal line in a graph widget. You can also use a static value in a calculation as a constant.   Math functions You can do calculations using Min, Max, Average and Sum in combination.   Max and Min Use the Max function to show the largest value from a set of sensor data. Use the Min function to show the smallest value from a set of sensor data.   Add a single value to show the highest or lowest battery temperature   Click Add widget > Single Value.     Name your widget and go to Choose value >Calculated sensor.     Select either Min or Max.     Use Select sensor to select which sensors you want to monitor and click Save.     Click Add.     Save the dashboard.       Average Use the average function to show the arithmetic mean of a set of sensor data.   Add a graph widget to show average battery temperature.       Click Add widget> Graph.     Name your widget and go to Add value > Calculated sensor.     Select Average.     Use Select sensor to select which sensors you want to monitor and click Save.     Click Add.     Save the dashboard.       The resulting graph shows the mean sensor value for a time interval. A time interval is defined by the shortest pull cycle for the selected sensors.   Sum    Use the sum function to add up all the values for each point in time.   Add a single value widget to show PUE Calculate the efficiency of specific locations, rooms, etc.   Click Add widget > Single value.   Add single value   Name your widget and go to Choose type > Calculated sensor.   Choose type   Click Select sensors and search for the sensors representing the total facility power. Click Save.   Select sensors   Click Value calculation.   Click Value calculation   Use the menu to select Divide.     Click Choose type > Calculated sensor and search for the sensors representing the IT equipment power. Click Save.     Name the value and click Add.   Click Add   Save the dashboard.   Click Save

Video clips in IT Expert

The Physical security tab in IT Expert displays video clips from monitored NetBotz 750/755 surveillance cameras.   About the Video clips Beta release     NetBotz cameras will be counted as a node in your IT Expert subscription at full release. Try the Beta release - plan to manage your subscribed nodes to count cameras.     Prerequisites   At least one Gateway in your organization must be updated to version 2.1.1 or newer. Updating EcoStruxure IT Gateway Gateway 2.1.1 auto-updates will be rolled out incrementally. The Gateway 2.1.1 software download will be available to all customers soon.   Web credentials for monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances must be configured on the EcoStruxure IT Gateway Settings page. See how This is required for communication with NetBotz cameras. Otherwise, cameras will not be discovered. Note: Once you configure Web credentials, you must rediscover previously monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances to view video clips.   For recommended camera limits, see System requirements for EcoStruxure IT Gateway.         Select the location where you want to view video clips.   An interactive graph shows the number of clips for a time frame you select. Hover your cursor over the graph to see details. Zoom to explore further.   Click Custom dates to define the date range for the graph and the table. Click Simple to select from: Past hour, Past 6 hours, Past 24 hours, Past 7 days, Past 30 days.   Use the Search field to filter by Camera name, parent Device name and Camera location.   Select the clip Duration (All, or from 0 - 60 seconds) to filter video clips to see only what is important to you.  Tip: To filter video clips that are longer than 60 seconds, select All and then use the slider to select the minimum range. Leave the slider at 60 - no upper limit will be applied.       Delete video clips   IT Expert Administrators can delete clips from IT Expert. Check one or more boxes in the list and click Delete. IMPORTANT: Video clips are stored for a maximum of 30 days.     Video clip details   Click a thumbnail to view the video clip and see details about the camera and the time the clip started and ended.   You can Export the clip as an MPG file or as a zip archive that contains the individual frame images. Note: You cannot export clips from the EcoStruxure IT mobile app.   Do not refresh the browser or log out of ITE while the MPG download is in progress. Otherwise, you must download the file again. MPG files can be played in OS native players and video applications that support the MPEG-1 codec.     Clip length   Video clips are a fixed length pre-capture and post-capture as configured on the NetBotz appliance.   In the IT Expert video clips, video clips capture up to the first 59 seconds of an incident with a properly configured NetBotz appliance with post capture set to 59 seconds.   It is recommended that you examine your post-capture settings to make sure they are long enough to serve their needs. The sum of pre- and post-capture must be less than or equal to 60 seconds, with a minimum of 1 second pre-capture required.   To capture the most meaningful length clips:   Looking down a row or similar camera positioning: Configure ~30 seconds of post-capture. Rack, wiring closet, or other close up view: Configure ~10-20 seconds of post-capture.   The NetBotz will only trigger another clip after motion clears and is triggered again.   NetBotz alarms and video clips   When NetBotz alarms are configured to generate video clips, the recording starts when the action begins and finishes recording when the action ends and the alarm clears. For this reason, active alarms never link to video clips on the ITE Alarms page. Only cleared alarms link to video clips generated by alarms that are configured to generate clips.   Troubleshooting   Click Not seeing your video clips? on the Physical security page in ITE to see troubleshooting tips.     Make sure to verify the Timeframe you selected on the Physical security page in ITE.   Log in to your NetBotz appliance and make sure Date and Time settings are correct. Note: You must Restart Device for these settings to apply to the camera.   Make sure the software on all the Gateways in your organization is up to date. In ITE, go to Administration > Gateways.   Make sure the NetBotz 75x camera credentials on all the Gateways in your organization are configured properly. 1. Log in to the Gateway. 2. Go to Settings to configure Web credentials for the camera. 3. Go to Discover Devices and rediscover the NetBotz 75x devices.   For each Gateway on a single network, at least 5 Mbps (megabits per second) upload and download speed is recommended to smoothly upload video clips from all connected and supported NetBotz cameras. On less stable networks, more bandwidth may be required.   IT Expert polls for new video clips every five minutes. It is possible that a video clip may not be displayed for five minutes after it is generated.
