Resurrecting a SRT6KXLI with Error P.05
Hi everyone, thanks in advance for all your help and ideas.
I am resurrecting a SRT6KXLI with dual APCRBC140 battery packs that was retired because of a constant Power Sys Error 00020 fault that has now been resolved by upgrading to the latest firmware, UPS 05.1 ID1013, per this post
https://community.se.com/t5/Datacenter-Forum/SRT8KXLI-Power-Sys-Error-00020/td-p/287698
I am now getting the following errors:
P.05 contact customer support
Connect battery, backup not available
and Internal comm fault 154 in the logs
I suspect that the battery packs are now beyond reviving and that the UPS is telling me to get new ones. Before I go and throw a lot of cash at buying 2 new battery packs, can anyone share some insight into the P.05 and Fault 154 please?
Thank you

Hi
Error 154 is a Lost comms event with the output on, and P.05 is a backfeed relay weld.
The only thing you can try to remedy these two issues is to 'braindead' the UPS, removing the AC power and disconnecting the batteries to completely power the ups down and then reconnect. If that doesn't work the ups would need replacing
Regards
Matt

Thannks Matt. What constitutes a lost comms event please? Could it be between PowerChute and my PC?

Hi
In this case it's referencing a loss of communication on the internal communication buss rather than between the UPS and powerchute.

Keeping this thread going in case anyone has had practical experience of how this relay issue was potentially resolved without an expensive APC repair please. This is the second (of two) APC UPSes that has failed within 18 months of normal operating conditions, doesnt really inspire confidence in the brand, this unit being the warranty replacement for the first one that failed and is therefore out of the original unit's 3 year warranty.
