What's new in SmartConnect

January 2025   When a new battery is installed in the UPS, the date of battery installation can now be set via the cloud. The UPS calculates the 'Replace By' date of expiry based on the battery installation date. ​If the battery install date is not reset during battery replacement, the UPS may send battery replacement notifications. Avoid on-site configuration at the UPS display by setting the date via the cloud.

November 2024   SmartConnect introduces a feature beneficial to MSPs and IT teams - Shared Devices. It allows multiple users to monitor and manage the same device(s) from separate user accounts. An owner can now share a device with up to five users that have two-factor authentication enabled. Shared device users can purchase licenses, remotely install UPS firmware, remotely reboot devices, and run diagnostic tests. Actions taken by shared device users are logged to the Event Log. Device owners can quickly share or revoke access to a device from the new Device Management tab.   Experience an interactive demonstration of SmartConnect features, now available on the SmartConnect web portal.   SmartConnect customers can get two free licenses for every ten advanced plan licenses purchased. A new quantity and pricing plan calculator is now available on the SmartConnect web portal.   August 2024   Known Issue A third-party platform provider has recently implemented a change, affecting customers using email-to-SMS gateways. Issues with notifications may occur for customers using this type of service. It is recommended for the customers to use standard email delivery or explore Teams/Slack integrations while alternative solutions are investigated. We apologize for any inconvenience, as this change is outside our control.   July 2024 An Advanced Plan promotion for 1Y and 3Y plans has launched with a term extension and/or free additional licenses issued when buying in increments of 10 licenses. Find out more in Subscription Overview. Reduce the number of notifications on the Dashboard screen by dismissing UPS Warranty Expired notifications. Warranty Expiring/Expired UPS status' can now be reviewed from the MyInventory and MyRenewals reports which can be downloaded from the Dashboard.

June 2020 EcoStruxure™ IT Expert customers can now register and monitor EcoStruxure™ IT SmartConnect devices via the dedicated SmartConnect Ethernet port. Customers sign up, registration and support are all handled by EcoStruxure IT Expert. NOTE: It is not supported to simultaneously monitor compatible UPS devices using both services. For more information on how to monitor your Smart-UPS device via EcoStruxure IT Expert, please consult the Help Center.   April 2020 The web portal now includes a built-in QR code scanner that allows mobile users to register their UPS device(s) via the browser's camera. Scanning the UPS device's QR code is the most convenient way to register your device and automatically captures the device's Product ID and Product Key. This built-in QR code scanner eliminates the need for a third-party QR code scanner application and is only available on mobile devices.

December 2023 SmartConnect now supports time-on-battery load shedding for a non-essential outlet group to preserve UPS battery runtime for essential loads placed on other outlet group(s). View the Help Center to find out more. Energy usage (KWh) for each Smart-UPS has been added to the downloadable MyInventory asset report. November 2023 Automated lifecycle notifications about subscription or warranty expiry, and battery renewal needs have been consolidated so that fewer emails are sent. This is helpful for users with several Smart-UPS on their user account. Lifecycle notifications start to flow three (3) months prior to expiry.   October 2023 Buying Experience: Improved for multi-node licenses when you buy online from SmartConnect using your credit card. You can now add multiple licenses to the online cart, so that you no longer need to complete separate credit card transactions for every node. Activation Code: You will receive your activation code via email to unlock multiple licenses and to simplify assigning licenses in installations with multiple devices. User-Experience: Improved the user-experience in assigning multiple licenses, this change facilitates and simplifies online purchases. September 2023 Improved user-experience for multi-node licenses when you buy from a reseller. One activation code (delivered to you via email) can now unlock multiple licenses, to simplify assigning licenses in installations with multiple devices.   August 2023 We have updated our privacy policy to include the use of Google Analytics. Based on your feedback, we have made some performance changes to our tables. The Dashboard, Subscription and Event tables now show all entries at once. The pagination has been replaced with a scrollable table so you can see all of your devices at once. May 2023 Notifications integrations to Microsoft Teams and Slack. SmartConnect introduces integrations with Microsoft Teams and Slack to offer a push-like notification experience for our users. To learn how to set up the integration and generate the needed URL to feed your UPS device notifications into popular team tools, visit the Help Center. Event notifications can now be sent as plaintext emails for use with an SMS Gateway. We have updated our privacy policy to reflect the integration option to Microsoft Teams and Slack. April 2023 Fast Dashboard loading for all user accounts. Device reports and Renewal forecasts can now be downloaded in .csv format from the Dashboard so that users get an overall inventory view. The "MyInventory" file displays the Device ID and Device Name, with a snapshot of important UPS data while "MyRenewals" report helps forecast software license renewals, battery replacements and warranty requirements. Feature added for remote adjustment of device sensitivity to input power voltage fluctuations. Reducing the sensitivity of the UPS from its highest setting may reduce the number of times the UPS switches to battery power and the notifications you receive. November 2019 You can now delete your web portal account and all associated data via the Delete Account page.   October 2019 The Data Privacy Notice has been updated with a focus on how UPS data is collected for reports and analysis, and how technical data is collected to improve our services.   July 2019 Smart-UPS event logs can now be downloaded in .csv format. The exported file displays the Device ID and Device Name, and event information, including event severity, date, and description.   April 2019 The loading time of the Dashboard is significantly quicker with the introduction of Lite view. Lite view is now the default view if you have 25 or more UPS devices registered. You have the option to change this to Standard view at any time via the Dashboard. New Diagnostics section in the UPS Status page which includes self test and new audible alarm functionality to help you physically locate your UPS device. Network settings introduced in the previous release are now contained in the new Network section of the UPS Status page.   March 2019 Support added for multiple notification policies for Smart-UPS devices. Different recipients can now receive different sets of notifications. Support added for customized notification policies. You can now create your own policies to only include notifications that are important to you. As a registered user, you can remotely initiate a self test on your Smart-UPS via the Device section of the UPS Status page and view the result in the web portal. The web portal now shows your UPS network settings (IP address, gateway, subnet) so you can keep better track of your inventory.

Advanced 1-year and 3-year plans get free term and/or additional licenses when you buy online or from your channel partner and activate during the 2024 promotion window. ​   How does it work? January 2022 Two-Factor Authentication can now be enabled for your Schneider Electric user account. Once enabled, it is effective for all Schneider Electric applications that you use with this account. Future advanced features in the web portal require that this additional layer of security is enabled.

September 2021 The Recommended Events setting in the Notifications page now includes the UPS Output Power Turned Off and Power Restored events. The UPS Settings page has been removed and its features have been moved to the UPS Status page. You can now edit your UPS profile, view warranty-related information, access Renewal Options, and delete your UPS from your account directly from the UPS Status page.
