BMENOC0301 in slots 2,8,10&11 of BMEXBP1200 limitation
Hi Experts,
Does anyone know the technical reason why if the Ethernet Backplane-port is off on NOC, why it can't be installed in the 'Bus-X only' slots?
Could Control Expert be modified to allow this? And throw a build error if a user attempts to enable the backplane port in one of these slots?
When doing Premium migrations that have multiple ETY cards, this limitation becomes a hassle.
Thanks

My understanding is that the BMENOC0301 requires the Ethernet backplane. This is the ONLY mechanism it uses to communicate to the CPU on the rack.
So installing it in a Bus-X only slot simply would not work (for communication to CPU... which means it would not work fullstop).
I'm unsure what disabling the Ethernet Backplane Port means here, but I suspect it has a nuance that means the Ethernet Backplane port is actually still active, but perhaps it no longer has filtering applied or similar.
