I have a system that requires monitoring in its total generation. This system has two independent generation circuits of 400A each. Can summation CT be used to combine what is measured by the CTs of each system (same CT model) and then feed a PM5563?

Hello @MAPH
Have a look at https://www.se.com/ca/en/faqs/FA202846/, note that there are a few conditions required for a configuration of this nature to work.

Charles

Thank you, Charles.
If I use two sets of CTs 400:5, do I need to configure my meter to 800:10, or what change do I need to make in my configuration? Because I am expecting up to 5 A from each CT.

Hello @MAPH ,
The first question I was ask is what does the meter support. If meter cannot support 10A, you will need to use larger CTs. Note that CTs can often output more than 5A, be sure the combined maximum from both CTs are less that the maximum the meter can support.
The CT ratio would match the CTs used on 1 source.

Charles
