Switched LAN port delay of ION9000, PM8000, PM5500

Hi everyone,

ION9000, PM8000 and PM5500 have 2 LAN ports and those can be used switched HUB, thus ION, PM meters can be connected as cascading connection.
We would like to update its I/O status (alarm) information quickly (within 1 second).
Therefore we worried about the delay time influenced by cascading connection.
What time is the delay to be transferred by one ION or PM meter to next ION or PM meter?

[Condition]
LAN: 2 or 3 meters / 1 cascading connection
Total meter quantity: approx. 30 pcs.
Protocol: Modbus TCP

The is no spec time that I can give you. The meter uses RSTP for loop network connections and the time for the network to resolve is outside of the meter's control. Firmware V3.0.0 and later had improvements for loops with more than 10 nodes.

There are a number of factors that can come into play when trying to determine the network settling time. One of the larger elements is the number of nodes in the network loop. Another is how often the nodes check for a break. The relation between nodes and time is non-linear. More devices, more time. 

What I can say is that Schneider cannot guarantee a 1 second settling time.
