Power meter ride-through time

Hi All,

Would like to inquire what is the ride-through time for a power meter? Referring to the datasheet below, does it mean the meter has a battery inside which can keep the internal clock alive for 30 seconds during the power outage?

Another question, why does “control power 120 Vac and with maximum burden” have a different ride-through time (100ms vs. 30s)?

Thanks

Hi @Stuart_Cheng

In terms of Control Power, the ride-through time for a power meter refers to the short duration(in the range of cycles) for which the meter can maintain its operation without power during a temporary outage or disturbance. This capability ensures that the meter continues to function and record data even during short power interruptions which will  be dependent on the the voltage applied to the meter and capacitors of meter's power supply circuits.

The real-time clock ride-through time refers to the duration for which the real-time clock in a power meter, can maintain accurate timekeeping during a power outage or disruption.
Internal battery backup purpose is just to maintain meter's clock operation when meter is power down.
