Hi there
We are in the process of upgrading the firmware of a number of PM8000 series meters, however on a number of the devices the attached error message comes up when trying to move from the current firmware (v3.0 MID) to a higher version (v3.001 or v4.0, as I tried both to see if I needed to upgrade incrementally), however there was no issue when moving from v2.2 to v3.0 and some meters have been upgraded to v4.0 successfully.
I am using IONSetup v3.2.23004 to perform the upgrades and cannot work out where this issue is coming from

These are great questions!
(1) You are correct - although we have produced 4.0.0 MID firmware, it is pending the usual lab MID certification before it is released (always a slight delay in availability)
(2) To clarify the community comment, the MID and Standard ION Framework have been mutualized as of 3.1 (same ION Framework for both Standard and MID firmware types), but MID still has distinct firmware files.
Hopefully this helps clarify the confusion. I have attached a quick picture. Your clarifications helped in answering!

Wrong product id suggests a mismatch of the upgrade file to what the meter is - can you confirm that the upgrade file you are using is MID as well (and not a standard one)? The MID upgrade file will have "MID" in it: PM8000_MID_V004.000.000

Hi Tom
I might be being a touch dense but I cannot see a MID file for V4.0 either in the folder that I downloaded or a separate file for this to download. Is this pending release?
I did see on a previous community query that the MID version had been combined into the standard, is this no longer the case?
Apologies for answering questions with questions
