I have a hands-on customer who has tried to upgrade the firmware in a PM82401 to v2.1 to enable waveforms to be viewed in the device web pages. Unfortunately, it has not worked and whatever has been done has affected the framework in the meter so it no longer displays all data in the web pages and 47 modules are off-line when the upgrade has been completed.
Fortunately this meter is not fully commissioned yet so is there a way to reset the meter to factory default so that he can can start over?
I have attached the screen captures taken from the upgrade.
Thanks

The latest 2.1.0 firmware for the PM8000 MID meter is here:
https://www.schneider-electric.com/en/download/document/PM8000_MID_meter_FW_v2.1.0/
With ION Setup v3.1 you can choose the zip file for the upgrade which will allow you to program the meter firmware, web pages, and default template all from the one file.
You can upgrade directly from 1.1.0 to 2.1.0 using the zip file referenced above and ION Setup will perform any intermediate upgrades for you.

That's the wrong file. It should be called TEMPLATE.LOG and should be located in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup
You might also want to also send us your SYSTEM.LOG file as well.
You might try to unzip the Web page zip file to a temporary file location and try to upload those files/folders using a FTP client (like WinSCP/FileZilla or even Windows Explorer). If you are unable to connect to the FTP port, then its likely blocked by some type of networking equipment which you could try to bypass with a direct cross-over cable directly to the device (you would likely have to reprogram your laptop's IP address to one on the same subnet as the PM8000 at that point).

That message indicates the meter does not have any web pages loaded. The web page files are provided along with every firmware release. You can upload the meter web pages via FTP or using ION Setup.

Recommend going from V1.1 to V1.3 first before going to V1.4.3. There were some changes between V1.1 and V1.4.3 that could possibly make the upgrade have challenges.

Recommend making sure you have the latest version of ION Setup, if you do have that, then will need to log a case with technical support. Be sure to include the log files from "C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup"
Screen shot of the device settings, ION Setup -> select device -> Diagnostics -> General tab would also be a good idea.

What framework version are you trying to RMP to your 1.3.1 firmware device? (as per your ION Setup screen shot) - wondering if you not trying to get to 2.1.0, then do the RMP piece?

No not yet. Not had the opportunity to try as I'm bogged down with PME software issues at the moment. Thanks

What is the recommended firmware upgrade path from v1.1 to v2.1 and which RMP should be used?

Hi Tom
One PME issue resolved and one pending, so back to the PM8000 FW.
The meter is FW v001.001.000 as per attached but is not displaying all live data. What do I need to get this back to a functional device before I even consider upgrading the firmware to display waveforms in the web pages?
Thanks

David Anderson on the firmware team here believes it sounds like an interrupted upgrade - the recommendation is to go to firmware version 1.4.3 first, then proceed with the upgrade to 2.1.0 again.

I have upgraded the meter to v1.4.3 firmware and it has partially restored the meter functionality (see attached process and errors) but the meter still states that it is v1.1.0 in ION Setup and the Diagnostic web page.
I'm guessing that the missing functionality is down to the compatibility of the installed template (v1.4.0) with V1.1.0 firmware?
Should I now try upgrading to v2.1?

Hmmm - it looks like you have a PM8000 MID meter, not a standard PM8000 - can you confirm? The PM8000 and ION7400 have a different firmware file for MID. The "NAK Target Not Supported" message is indicating this (wrong firmware file for this device type). Looking at the messages, the 1.4.3 operation did not work for the same reason - you need the MID firmware.

It is the MID version (METSEPM82401).
Do you have a link to the MID F/W upgrade?
Thanks

That is good news ! For the web pages - just confirming you have the latest ION Setup. If so, have you tried just re-uploading only the web pages? In ION Setup, it's under "Template" in the wizard, "Web" tab, and then click the "Upload" button. Tech support will be able to assist if needed - sounds like you are really close !
If you have the latest ION Setup, can you post the log file here, so we can take a look - thanks ! @Robert_Lee

Hi Tom
Yes I am using the latest version of ION Setup (v3.1.19095.01) and I have just tried uploading the web pages from the Template "Upgrade" and "Web" tabs but neither has made any difference.
Where will I find the ION Setup log file?
Thanks

C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup
May also be good to ftp to the meter and get a copy of the web files currently on the device.

Template.log and System.log files attached for reference.
The great news is that by unzipping and copying the web page files direct to the meter using Windows Explorer and FTP has worked!!!!!!
Thank you all for your assistance with this matter 🙂

What OS version is running on the PC. ION Setup is attempting to use PowerShell V3 (which should be available in most newer WIndows OSes), in order to automatically unzip the web zip file but I don't see an entry in the SYSTEM.LOG indicating that the unzip was successful.
Thursday, June 6, 2019 8:41:33 AM: UNZIP, Process, powershell.exe "& { Add-Type -A 'System.IO.Compression.FileSystem'; [IO.Compression.ZipFile]::ExtractToDirectory('C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\www\ION9000_webpages_000.001.925.zip', 'C:\Users\SESA70~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IONSET~2\web\'); }", Target, C:\Users\SESA70~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IONSET~2\web\
Something like the above entry should appear in the SYSTEM.LOG when you attempt to upload web pages clicking on the Upload button from the Web tab and you've selected the zip file (you would also see a dialog appear as it is uploading the individual files *IF* it is successful in unzipping.

After upgrading with latest ION software & PM8000 version V002.001.000
Is there a solution to get the web server back?

The issue is now resolved.
The PM8000 meter was the MID version but the firmware was for the non-MID version.
Once upgraded with the correct version (MID), the firmware upgrade to v2.1 was successful and the web pages and waveforms now all work correctly.
Thank you.

You can try to upload just the web pages again using ION Setup or an FTP client - have your tried this?
Thanks
