PM3255 - Log Configuration in ION Setup

In order to enable the Energy and Demand logs of the PM3255, you have to use the front panel of the meter. You cannot configure the log enable/disable from ION Setup. Can someone explain why this is?

Also, can someone like confirm that with the new firmware of the PM3255, we can configure the new user-definable logs in ION Setup and from what firmware this is supported?

I posted this in the hardware area, as it will be the most common place for this to be found, but is also a related forum.

Re: PM3255 - Log Configuration in ION Setup

According to the latest iEM3000 Users Guide, those devices still do not support a Modbus command to configure the data logging capabilities of those models (located in Chapter 5).  Until the firmware is modified to support both the reading and writing of the data log configuration, ION Setup won't be able to do anything to configure the data logging.

Ahh. I figured as much Robert, hence posting in the hardware area and tagging Marc. This is a problem for our sites where the boards are remote and we need to change log settings.

Cheers,
