ION9000 repeats powering up and down

Hi,

Our customer asks us to update the firmware because the ION9000 sometimes automatically repeats powering up and down.

(It’s not only one PQM, but some ION9000 units at the customer site are showing this problem.)

*The current firmware version of the ION9000 is 3.0.1 (the firmware is a hotfix from Schneider).

Can we resolve this problem by a firmware upgrade?

I found information in the “What’s new” document for versions 3.1.0, 4.0.0, 4.5.0,

but there is no specific information about a bug fix.

Do you have any information about this problem?

Sincerely @Tomohiro-Okada

Hello @Tomohiro-Okada ,

Again without knowing the root cause of the power cycle I cannot say if upgrading the firmware will help. You will need to reach out to your local technical support to troubleshoot. Some of the diagnostics needed require help from technical support to collect.

The history of bug fixes for the ION9000 is not publicly disclosed.

Regards,

Charles

Hello @Tomohiro-Okada ,

"Can we resolve this problem by a firmware upgrade?" It depends on what is causing the meter to power cycle. How long does the mete stay powered on for, seconds, minutes, hours or days?
If you meter power cycles in seconds, you will not be able to upgrade the firmware before meter power cycles. I strongly recommend you contact your local technical support to troubleshoot. If meter needs to be returned you can provide the case number which should make returning meter easier.

regards,

Charles

Hello @Charles_Murison

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Actually, we don't know how long the PQM stays powered on and off,

but the ION9000 does not always repeat powering up and down.

So we have a timing for updating the firmware of ION9000.

In this case, can we resolve this problem by updating firmware?

Another question, can we see the information about revision history of bug fix of ION9000 on the web page?

If you have any idea, could you give us the information?

Sincerely,

@Tomohiro-Okada
