ION9000 PM8000 Template

Dear experts,
A customer created and used custom templates for ION9000 and PM8000 with Firmware Version V3.1.0.
Now that the latest Firmware Version V4.0.0 has been released, can we use the custom templates created in V3.1.0 in V4.0.0?

Hi Yuji - yes, this is will be ok.  The only consideration is to ensure the newer framework does not contain any additions that you are interested in.

As Tom mentioned, the newer firmware is usually backwards compatible with older templates. So using template built on V3.1.0 firmware should work on V4.0.0 firmware. When possible I do recommend trying to use the latest templates as this could include new features or bug fixes.

If possible, what I would recommend is documenting the changes made to customize your template, then you could re-apply those customizations to the newer templates.  If you have access to PME's Designer, you could save the changes to a partial framework, then do a paste on the new firmware with new template.
