ION7650 - Configuring Watchdog and Event present digital outputs

Hi,

Has anyone configured the digital outputs on the ION7650 for either a watchdog, or an Alarm/Event being present on the system?

Currently the customer has asked for the ION meters to be configured with a Watchdog/health contact. This will stay closed until the meter loses power, then it should reopen. I'm assuming it would be easily achieved using the solid state digital outputs, but I have no way off testing it as the customer does not want to power the meter down.

In regard to the event present output, I wave looked and noticed that there are a lot of statuses for when waveforms have been captured that can be ORed together in the VIP frameworks for the meter, but there does not seem to be any single status for when the meter has captured an alarm/event or waveform. Is this correct, or have i missed this signal somewhere?

Thanks for all of your assistance.

Regards,

Martin

To indicate that the meter is ON please take a look at the Diagnostics module there is one output called Power Up Pulse you can use it to trigger the Force On input of the Digital Output assigned to one of the three output mechanical relays the  set up for digital out put Polarity must be Inverted when power up the state of the relay will change when power down the relay will drop.

For the Sag/Swell and Transient module there some status and trigger output which you can use as alarm. But do not use the meter as relay especially when some customer ask for DNP signal called Unsolicited Response in ION meter this function always disabled.
