ION Meter - PSO ION Driver with L Modifier appended to ION Output

Hi,

I know this has PSO in its topic but it relates to how PSO reads data for Active Energy and Reactive Energy. The driver uses the following Output labels from the ION Meter to read Active and Reactive Energy. The pipe symbol is used as alternative labels may be used for different ION meters. (See below)

Active Energy

kWh del-rec|kWh net|Real Energy|Real Energy Signed;L

Reactive Energy

kVARh del-rec|kVARh net|Reactive Energy|Reactive Energy Signed|kQh net;L

The question I have relates to the ';L' modifier and what it relates to.  I've included a screenshot of the ION Driver help from PSO for info.

Gavin_Bryson_0-1682564828213.png

By using ';L' data is read from data log(s).

So, I'm doing some testing on a customer site and there isn't currently a load however there are Energy readings displayed in the Meter from some of the limited testing we did with a load and what was present from the Schneider factory.

When attempting to read Active and Reactive Energy via PSO I don't see a value. Equally when I use ION Setup to view the Data Log, the log is empty.

Does anyone know what may be preventing the Data Log from updating so that I can read the Energy values? I've reviewed the meter settings using ION Setup ad logging has been enabled.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Gavin

Hello @Gavin_Bryson ,

If no recorders this would suggest meter does not have a template. If some recorders and there but not the recorders you are expecting then customized template has not been uploaded.

Regards,

Charles

Hello @Gavin_Bryson,

I had a couple of questions when reading the log with ION Setup. Do you specify a data range or just do a read all? If the time wasn't set correctly when the data logging occurred it might get missed by pulling a specific date range, but will still show up if you do a read all.

Also, was any change made to the data recorders after testing? Whether changing the sources or depth? Any change to the data recorder will wipe it...

Lastly, was the meter in test mode when testing was done? Test mode typically disables most of the integrators so the accumulation from testing doesn't get applied to the meters revenue framework.

Likely more information required, but just confirming "EgyDmd Log Enbl" is set to true.  Those parameters are logged by the "EgyDmd Log" and are set to log out of the factory.  Custom framework?

If it is not a custom framework, and it is factory framework V4.0.0.0.0, also confirm "Ignre Dmd if TS" is set to false/0

Hello @Gavin_Bryson ,

There are a lot of different elements to check that would not do well over this forum. Strongly recommend working with your local technical support to investigate this. One test you can do with ION Setup is place in Advanced configuration mode. Navigate to Data recorders then recorder in question. Hold shift and clink on the input tab, this should show you real time values. Confirm the enable is true and the record input is non zero.

Regards,

Charles

Ok, thanks @Charles_Murison

I did view the recorders using the method you outlined and there was nothing there.

I will check the information posted here and if I identify an issue I will contact technical support.

Many thanks,

Gavin
