Hi All,
Our client needs to give monitoring of measurements and breaker status & control to the utility company from ION9000 via 61850 protocol.
We followed instructions and download .cid file to the ION9000.
All measurements and statuses are correct except statuses contained in GGIO dataset (onboard IO).
These indications always have bad quality(invalid timestamp 1.1.1970.) with values 0.
On several inputs we have HI state that is correct interpreted on web interface.
The same situation is when these inputs are mapped as custom Inputs (dataset CUSTOMIO).
Device firmware is 003.000.000, feature set standard.
As I can see the same .icd file is in several firmware releases.
Any change in the .cid file didn't run correctly (eg. change or add datasets or change RCB).
RTU is ABB RTU560, but the same symptom occurs with IEC Browser (screenshots attached).
Any idea how to solve this?
Could someone check onboard IO statuses in own ION9000 with eg. IEC browser?

Hi @Charles_Murison and all,
After ION FW upgrade to 4.0.0 everything works well with the same .cid file.
Timestamp for all inputs with state "1" is current timestamp, and "0" for lowered inputs.
Thank you very much.

Hello @neracali ,
Likely you will want to contact technical support to start troubleshooting this. One place you can start looking is with ION Setup software -> Advanced configuration -> IEC61850GGIO onb Modules -> IEC61850GGIO onb 1. If you hold shift and click on input tab you might see real time values linked to this module.
Digital output may not be able to read ONB1_GGIO1.SPCSO1.stVal if controlled by IEC61850. Have not tested linking to custom Digital IO.
I used IED Explorer and was able to read Input status (all false since nothing connected to inputs.)
Regards,
Charles

Hi @Charles_Murison,
Thanks for your effort.
There is the same problem with your device.
Please check timestamps of the signals on your screenshot. They are not updated.
What Firmware version is your device?
Onboard inputs are well interpreted in web and ION Setup in my case.

Hello @neracali ,
I do not have a meter currently where the digital inputs are connected and have changed state. Without this state change, the timestamp will be "0" as you have already seen in screenshots. The device I was connected to has V3.1.0 firmware.

Charles

Hi @Charles_Murison ,
according the IEC 61850 & IEC 60870-5 General interrogation should return current input state with current timestamp (trigger options GI & period are true in ION9000 .cid file).
There is no sense to show input value only on data change, since ION restart or RTU/SCADA restart will generate fake and bad quality values.
It looks like 61850 server doesn't gather Onboard IO input values.

Hello @neracali ,
"General interrogation should return current input state with current timestamp" Technically the IEC61850 module does this. On the meter itself, the timestamp for the register will be reset if meter loses power and input is not active when meter powers back up. Below is a test I did with Input 1 on ION9000T meter. You can see that IEC61850 does report the state of the Digital input correctly.
I used ION Setup to connect to the meter in advanced configuration. Hold shift with clicking the output registers to get the current real time value. In the output registers you can hold <Ctrl> down and click on S1 state to send specific messages to the meter to read time of the register. IEC61850 module in the meter does essentially the same thing.
Below are the steps I performed:
1) Meter powered on, digital inputs never connected.
2) Connected input to 24V to trigger a state change
3) Input disconnected
4) Meter Power cycled, while input is disconnected.
5) Meter power cycled while input connected

Charles

Thank You @Charles_Murison.
In this case (ION900T) quality in all cases is well ([NONE]), despite of strange timestamp values ("0" after restart).
In your first post quality of physical input information was bad, as in my case ([VALIDITY1] - Bad Timestamp), and that is the main problem. Also, in my case Input values are incorrect only on 61850 interface.
I'll try to upgrade Firmware of the device to the latest (as soon as I get permission), and check if anything is going to change.
