ION 7650 IO registers
Hello Everyone,
I am looking for the Modbus register list for the DIGITAL IO for the ION 7650 meter.
All the register l find have the electrical parameters but none have the Digital IO registers.
Please point me in the right direction.
Thanks team,
Ashley

Hi Ashley,
By default, the Digital IO is not included in the ION7650 meter's available modbus register list. However, you could get the digital IO information through modbus protocal by adding them into the meter's modbus slave module.
More information you could refer to the documents below:

Thanks
Leo

Hello Chen,
Thank you for your reply,
My application is so simple and now becoming complicated due to the ION meter not have the IO associated to a register.
All i need is the status of the first 3 DI's. DI1 - 3 are going to be used as breaker indication, open, closed tripped on a SCADA.
Which module would i use to move the Digital inputs into a register to monitor the bits?
All the PM meters have a register to monitor the IO.
I look forward to your assistance.
Once again Thanks
Ashley

The documentation reference above will explain how to map the device's IO to a modbus register. This will be a small framework you will need to paste to the devices you wish to monitor the IO on. Think of it as configuring the IO port to be input, output, etc and then mapping that configuration to one or more modbus registers.
Remember that even the older PowerLogic devices had issues around the IO - interpreting the modbus register values is dependent on how the IO port is configured and that configuration still needed to be done to get the right values.
