DLF3000 Install error

Hi,

I have tried several times now to install DLF3000, but every time I try I get the message below.

I am trying to install in C:\DLF3000, which is the folder in the background of the image, and I am also an Administrator and have click 'Run as Administrator'

Any help would be appreciated, as I need to get this working to be able to upgrade some customer PM5100 meters.

Not DLF3000 user myself but have you tried running the installer from a location other than where you are trying to install?

DLF3000 is a very old upgrade application which I believe is no longer being maintained.  It may not operate properly on newer OSes and may only install properly on older OS which is no longer being supported by Microsoft (ex. Windows 7 or Vista for example).

Could you please send the snap of the windows specification ?

I am also getting such issue while trying to re-installing in Windows 11 now. May be some latest windows update is preventing this installation as some month back it was working in same windows 11. I am checking internally. I'll share any updates as soon as I have...

Hi,

I am going to a customer site to upgrade the firmware in some PM5100 series meters, and DLF3000 is listed as the tool to use to perform this operation.

Is there some other way to do this?

Hi Charles,

just tried to install from a different location, C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\DLF-3000 v3_3 v2, and still get the same error.

Do you have any idea how I can upgrade the firmware of some PM5100 meters another way?

Not PM5000 expert so I don't know of another way to upgrade the meter.

Hi @Andy_Hubert PM5100 series need this DLF tool for upgrade. If you have another laptop with different windows version, please install the DLF3000 in that.

Hi @Andy_Hubert I've just checked with my IT team and it was some IT restriction which prevented the installation with the error just like you got. So Windows 11 is also not an issue. Please check with your IT team to provide the needed authorization for this installation.

Hi @Charles_Murison The DLF3000 application is restricted by CyberArk EPM. Once the authorization code is obtained, the installation proceeds without issues.

Hi Charles,

I couldn't get it to work on my Schneider laptop, I ended up installing it on a personal laptop with an older version of windows.

And after all the time spent doing it, it turned out that the customer was reading the wrong meters anyway and I didn't need it!!

I did call IT and had my privileges raised to Administrator level, and it still wouldn't install.
