As mentioned in our previous announcement, here is the first list of legacy features that we have marked for deprecation:
Modules |
Background |
Recommended alternatives |
ION Scheduler Module |
Built in to enable Time of Use (TOU) application in our meters in the late ‘90s |
TOU Module* Offers superior billing functionality in our advanced meters* |
Thermal Demand Module |
Designed to calculate Peak Demand for billing applications for power utilities. |
Sliding Window Demand Module* Thermal Demand is no longer widely used as most utilities now use Sliding Window Demand to calculate Peak Demands. |
*Refer to ION Reference guide for more details |
While these deprecated modules will continue to operate in the ION Framework, they are no longer supported. These modules may not be available in future releases. We recommend that you migrate this functionality to other available module types (in the table above) to help retain this capability in future releases.
We have also decided to stop supporting SY/MAX feature. At this juncture, co-existence with SY/MAX devices can no longer comply with our advanced features and cybersecurity needs.
Please let us know if you see any issues with the deprecation of the above features, and we will be more than happy to discuss the topic.
