Issue When building a Solution in EAE, each engineer has their own idea of how to name items such as pins on a function block, the names of Composite or Basic Function Blocks which they create, the names of folders, Symbols, Faceplates and the list goes on. Without a standard naming convention to conform to, a Solution can become an accumulation of unorderly syntaxes. Resolution This article serves to uncover the different naming conventions widely used in real world engineering. A EAE Naming Convention Reference Card is also provided. Its intention is to be used as a guide during your EAE’s engineering lifecycle. It is produced based on close observation of Schneider’s Libraries that comes in EAE. Objective This article provides 2 sample Solutions to show how NETIO can be used to send data from one machine to another. As the base protocol used is TCP/IP, data can be sent over large distances between 2 EAE Devices. The sample Function Block Network of the Solutions is explained, and you can run them in 2 different machines to test them out. The provided samples also serve as a base for you to build something bigger on top of them. Objective The Alpha Channel in the Properties of some Objects can be used to achieve transparency. We can leverage on this characteristic to create a transparent Button that overlays a Symbol. The Button is then configured to launch a Faceplate. The result is a Graphical Symbol that when clicked, opens a Faceplate which you can then customized for various other operational purposes, such as controlling an asset. Issue Not having a 4G interface configured can lead to several issues, particularly if the HMIBSC Edge Box application relies on mobile network connectivity, means that the device will not be able to connect to the internet or communicate with other servers. This can disrupt services which require constant online access. Resolution With the use of 4G Cellular device within the HMIBSC Edge Box, this enables the Internet Connection. Issue Lexium Cobot allows to define load settings in one parameter set. But how to handle different gripper product combinations in a program and especially calculate center of mass with and without product. Resolution Using variables to update the parameters during runtime is the first step. Creating scipts allows maximum flexibility with the load settings and calculation of Center of Mass.
