BR1100CI-IN faulty fan
Hi Team,
Before posting this question i have been through the relevant thread in the forum.
My UPS(BR1100CI-IN 4 year old) fan has stopped working. Since its out of warranty i opened it and fan found model to be FD244020MB-H ( 24v and .7A) from Y.S.TECH . I have few questions.
1. Does running UPS without fan reduces the life of UPS if yes then how much ? FYI i live in India where room temp touches 40
2. Can i install 2 pin fan (same spec, without the tachometer pin) in 3 pin molex will it cause any issues ? If yes then please advice specs which need to be matched exactly ? (like volt , Ampere, CFM, RPM etc)
3. I know fan doesn't run always ( only when temp is high or charging etc.) but how to check its working fine. It does rotate for few seconds when UPS boots up right?

Hi,
Its a line interactive UPS, so inverter circuit ON only during power outage and thus fan use only when on battery. You can add any fan to replace the faulty one and powering it always when using UPS is OK and no problem. To make it work simply replace the fan with a 12V fan which is widely available in all electronic store and connect it to a 12V DC adaptor and simply connect the adaptor to the output of UPS, this way fan ON when UPS is operating.
You can still use it without the need of FAN but make sure the load is very less and not on battery power for long.
