What's new in IT Advisor

IT Advisor 9.5.1 A new desktop client is not required for this release. Use the ITA 9.5.0 desktop client. New features in the web client Updated landing page (Inventory) Context-sensitive map, floor preview and alarms pane Floor preview with device shading based on device capacity information (Capacity license required) New alarms list, displayed when Data Center Expert devices are associated to IT Advisor assets The map now shows site status based on alarms and capacity information. Customizable dashboards IMPORTANT: All existing dashboards from ITA 9.5.0 and earlier were removed and must be recreated. Dashboards are created per user. Dashboard widgets are currently limited to IT Advisor related information. You can change, move, and resize widget positions. Go to Dashboard and click New dashboard. Specify the dashboard name. Choose to recreate the dashboard From scratch or From templates. Click Start if from scratch and add widgets. Click Next if from templates, choose a template, and click Create. Sustainability dashboard from a template New user interface for Users, User groups, and Customers Users, User Groups, and Customers pages in the Administration menu were updated to align with other Schneider Electric software products. Users Tiles were replaced by a list. Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view. Add new user button; Search field User management buttons: Edit user, Reset password, Delete user Group assignment: Click in the field to choose a group from the list. Permission management button: Edit permissions User groups Group icons were replaced by a list. Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view. Create new user group button; Search field, indicator for number of group members Group management buttons: Set group as default, Edit group, Delete group Permission management button: Edit permissions Group membership management button: Edit members Customers Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view. Add new customer button; Search field Customer management buttons: Activate, Edit customer, Delete customer Permission management button: Add permissions Tenant management button: Add tenant Floor view updates Context management buttons replace tabs to easily change to the floor, rack, and room editor views. Each context has its own toolbar on the left. Note: The Network context is read-only at this time. Improvements coming in a future release. Collapsible Explorer view contains Explorer for navigation and Pinned rack view. Explorer view includes device alarm information (requires Data Center Expert integration). Select a rack to edit content in Pinned view. Device properties Collapsible context-sensitive data panes change based on the selection on the floor. Link mode toggle Example: Floor view Asset editor Rack shading on the floor view is based on capacity settings; red is critical, yellow is warning. Capacity Licensing enables rack/device overlays that display capacity information based on the selected context. Assets: U-space and weight capacity Power: Estimated load Network: Used/free port information Add assets in rack view You can now add, change, and delete assets and edit properties in rack view. Open the floor view. Select the Assets context. Open the rack view and select the rack on the floor. Click the lock icon to unlock the floor view. Click the Add icon. Search for and select the genome and drag it to the rack. Power connection properties U position is now included in in the rack properties. Open the floor view. Select the Power context. Select a rack on the floor. Open the Properties pane on the right. Select Power to see an overview of power capacity for the selection. Scroll to the bottom to manage Power Connections. Click the toggle at the bottom of the floor view to see the Power Dependency tab which provides access to the power path layout. Device association Associate a device from an external system (Data Center Expert or IT Expert) to an IT Advisor asset. Open the floor view, Select the Device Association context. Click the lock to unlock the floor view. Click the Unassociated devices icon. Expand Monitoring on the left and find the device in the list. Click the arrow > for the device to see its Properties, Product and Matches panes. Move the cursor over the existing device to create the association. If a matching genome is found, the unassociated item can be placed in the room as a new asset. External systems integration Configure and manage integrations with Data Center Expert and IT Expert servers on the Configuration > External systems page in the web client. Note: Only one IT Expert connection is allowed at a time. Customize the title and logo in reports You can now change the title and logo in reports. If the Name field is empty, the default name is used. The custom report name is not saved permanantly. You can upload two different image files for a logo. The selected file is used. If no logo is selected, the default Schneider Electric logo is used. The selected logo is not saved permanantly. Genome requests A Request new genome button on the Genomes > Genome Library and My Genomes pages now opens a web page to a request form at https://app.ecostruxureit.com/request/. Internet access is required. Issues fixed Single sign on from EcoStruxure IT Expert now works as expected. ETL measurements are now sorted properly after import. You can now assign customers to new or open cages and racks as expected. Cable trays can now be configured on a plain floor. A cold aisle containment system (CACS) can be added to the desktop client and the web client as expected. The test patch API operation executes as expected. The multiple asset patch APi operation no longer sets the same barcode on linked equipment. Known issues ITA 9.5.1 build 25195 ITA web client dashboard When the PUE dashboard is created based on the template, no data appears in the dashboard. ITA desktop client floor view Some customers are experiencing long delays when opening or closing rooms in the equipment browser pane. This issue is more noticeable in large models. IT Advisor 9.5.0 A new desktop is required for the IT Advisor 9.5.0 release. New features in the web client Favorites You can now mark rooms or locations as favorites directly from the main inventory page. Right click and select Add to favorites. Click the toggle to Show only favourite locations in the navigation tree or show all rooms and locations. Power Configuration Select Power Consumers in the Properties pane to manage pairing power consumers for racks and cages. Select multiple power consumers to pair or unpair. Breaker Panels Select Breaker Panels in the Properties pane to manage breaker panels. Add new panels or manage existing ones in the Breaker Panel pane. New Reports section You can now generate reports in the web client. Click Reports and select a report type. Select a date range, location, and the information to include and click Generate Report. Click Export Report to save as a PDF. Available reports include: Audit Trail Capacity History Energy Cost by Customer Energy Cost by Tag Energy Cost Inventory Inventory with Serial Number Rack Audit Rack Capacity Note: The Rack Audit report now shows the time of the last rack audit. Assign Custom Properties and Tags You can now assign custom properties and tags to locations and rooms. Select a location and right click. Select Edit properties. General improvements You can now drag to resize room fixtures such as rows, gaps, and blocks, or drag and drop to move fixtures in the Room Editor view. Adjusted nameplate and estimated load information are now available in the web client Equipment browser. Select one or more assets and click Edit items. Usability Improvements The left side bar is now categorized into sections: - Model: Contains Inventory and Genomes - Analyze: Contains Dashboard and Reports - Manage: Contains Change Management The Administration section moved to the top right toolbar. Issues fixed Improvements to work orders The work order task list no longer automatically scrolls to the top after modifying an entry. External URLS to assets External links to assets in ITA are now active as expected. Audit report permissions User Rights and Authentication Servers permissions are no longer required to run audit reports. Desktop client asset properties tooltip In the Customer properties tooltip in the desktop client, the Customer name field is no longer populated with data from Company and Comment fields. Capacity calculations Capacity data calculation and display issues were addressed. Breaker panel properties Breaker panel details are now displayed as expected. Room doors You can now place a door opening to the inside or the outside of a room. Room size Rooms created using US customary units are now sized correctly. Known issues On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, configuration changes are not saved after logging out of the web client. On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, the Price field in Subsystem Cost is cleared when you click Set default price and CO2 emission. Hot and Cold Aisle Containment systems are not created correctly in the web client.

IT Advisor 9.4.4 New features Web client Power connection wizard You can now configure power connections between rack PDUs and floor equipment (PDUs, UPSs, ATS and Switchgear) using the new power connection wizard. To access the wizard, go to the rack view and select a rack PDU. Click the power connection icon . If there is no power connection configured, click Connect. If there is an existing power connection, you will see power connection details for the rPDU you selected and the option to disconnect it. More... Power path color coding configured in the desktop client is now displayed in the power overlay in the web client. New asset management features You can now add the following fixures to the floor view in the room editor: door, window, perforated tiles, blocks, gaps, and person. Issues fixed The Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab now loads more efficiently. Access to the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab no longer requires a Capacity License. On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, Capacity Utilization now shows the percentage of the full theoretical capacity rating of the physical infrastructure. On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, the Capacity Utilization dial properly reflects the percentage range. The links to the Sustainability metrics tab in the desktop client Window > Dashboard options were refreshed. The hyperlink icon is now displayed in Custom Properties. Errors no longer occur when patching multiple custom properties. Assets are populated in the rack as expected after a search. It is no longer necessary to reload the page to populate columns and load the audit log after searching for an asset. Power information is now reported at the rack level in the web client. Erroneous changes to data in the web client custom properties no longer occurs. The Reset password and Delete options are available on the web client Users page for the selected user as expected. The scroll bar is available on the web client Users page as expected. The work order move to icon is now displayed as expected in the web client. The zoom level is longer reset after opening drawers or resizing the browser window. Existing ITA licenses can now be deleted. In the API, you can now disconnect power and network cables when moving assets to storage rooms and remove cables connected to equipment that resides in storage rooms. In the API, the endpoints on the /api/current page are no longer expanded and appearing to load data. Known issues US customary units are treated as metric when creating a room. This can result in a new room to being too small to edit. You can change your preferred units in your profile on the General page. You cannot remove the person fixture from the floor view. The Administration > Backup and Restore page does not list backups that are uploaded to the system. This is cosmetic. The backup can be run as expected. On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, configuration changes are not saved after logging out of the web client. On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, the Price field in Subsystem Cost is cleared when you click Set default price and CO2 emission. The Configuration > Certificates page does not display the installed certificates. This is cosmetic. IT Advisor 9.4.3 New features Web client Dashboard The Capacity tab moved from Inventory to the Dashboard. Select a location or room to display capacity data. The Energy Efficiency tab was renamed Sustainability metrics on the Dashboard in the web client. Click Configuration and select General to configure metrics. An asterisk * indicates that a value is required. Additional metrics include: Renewable Energy Factor: REF is calculated as the ratio of the renewable energy consumed by the data center to its total energy consumption. Specify the amount of energy in kWh that is produced from renewable sources. Water Usage Effectiveness: WUE is the ratio between the use of water in data center systems and the energy consumption of the IT equipment, measured in liters/kilowatt-hour (L/kWh). Specify the daily water usage in liters. Carbon Usage Effectiveness: CUE is the ratio of total data center carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to IT equipment energy consumption. The CO2 emissions data is derived from the system configuration. More... Issues fixed Setting floor coordinates in the web client shape editor now works as expected. The installation date format is now consistent in the equipment browser. Improved snapping for equipment inside the row. The error message for Selected company name does not match the company name of parent equipment was improved. Removed duplicate row errors for fanout cables in the ETL log. IT Advisor 9.4.2 New features New desktop client A new desktop client is required for ITA 9.4.2 SAML 2.0 Single Sign On (SSO) for the desktop and web clients (on-premises only) Administrators can now configure SAML 2.0 SSO in the Configuration > Authentication servers tab. Any identity provider (IdP) that supports the SAML protocol is supported. Once you configure SSO, all users with an email address on one of the domains you specify must use your identity provider to log in to IT Advisor on-premises. It is strongly recommended that at least one Administrator user who does not require SSO to log in is configured on the Administration > Users tab. Note: ITA hosted customers can leverage SSO in IT Expert. More... SAML SSO options on the desktop client login screen New API endpoint /configuration/dce-update A new REST API endpoint allows you to edit the MAC address and serial number of an existing DCE definition. Existing associations and sensor map data are updated to point to the new DCE server. This can be run while the server is in use. Note that MAC addresses are case sensitive. The MAC address of the DCE server is the Help > About EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert option in the DCE desktop client. The REST API documentation is available at https://<server IP address>/api/current/docs/index.html Web client features New features and enhancements in ITA 9.4.2: The web client has a new look! Left sidebar complies with Schneider Electric design standards. New Genomes option in the left sidebar. Click the Search icon to show or hide the search field. Navigation tab was renamed Details. Click the dots next to a location to access options. There is an Open floor view button in the preview. The Equipment Browser is now location based. When the Equipment browser is open, the view updates when you change locations. Genome management There is now a Genomes option in the left side bar. To add assets to rooms, search in the Genome Library instead of navigating a tree view. Users with Genome permission can select a genome from the Genome Library, preview and then add to their My Genomes list. Add and edit genome properties; and remove existing genomes. ITA web client small form factor for mobile devices The web client now adapts to a small form factor for use on tablets or smartphones. You cannot make changes on a mobile device. Note: Genomes, Administration, and Configuration options are not available on mobile devices. Rack audit - available on mobile devices only Select a rack and tap Rack Audit. Tap a rack or an asset to expand its auditable properties. Verify or Reject the settings. Note: You customize the auditable properties in the full sized web client on the Configuration > Inventory Settings tab. Rack audit will be available in the full sized web client in a future release. Rack view Elevated view was renamed Rack view. Now can Add rack mount PDUs to racks in the Rack view. New Rack lock button in the Rack view. New icon for Overlays button Room editor New Row layout button Check option to draw a Single Row in the floor view Uncheck Single Row option to draw CACS and HACS Issues fixed Deleted assets are no longer missing from the audit log. You can now edit existing sensor mappings. Changing the total U position in the web client no longer affects the rack dimensions or orientation. Rack ATS (AP4433) can now connect to 208V 50/60 power sources. The ETL configuration page in the web client automatically updates as expected. ETL jobs can now be deleted as expected. You can now delete an IT Optimize external system definition. IT Advisor 9.4.1 Known issues We are investigating the following issues in ITA 9.4.0 and 9.4.1: Editing existing sensor mapping is not working as expected. New features This release introduces significant improvements to the ITA web client. Web client Standardized layout across the application Redesigned landing page: Navigation updates: Tree view replaces tiles; preview area Map view is global and context-specific. KPI view is global and context-specific. You can now set the location address in the room properties. View map and KPI information Improved floor view navigation New Navigation icon to access filter; zoom to selection Use the Room Fixture icon to edit the room shape, floor coordinates, and other room properties. You can add and modify cages and walls in fixture mode. Use the Padlock icon to lock the floor. The floor must be unlocked to add racks or devices. Simultaneous front and rear rack views The Reverse button is in general information. New customer management feature You can now add Customers in the web client, previously only available in the Rest API. Issues fixed New users can now log in to the web client using SSO. The count for licensed racks is now up to date after each change. Custom bank names are now consistently shown. Work order numbers are now linked to blade and blade enclosures as expected Work orders now prevent having more than one asset in the same rack position. You can now remove blades and the blade enclosure in one work order. Improved work order error messages to more easily identify equipment. The Value defined filter is now working as expected in the equipment browser. You can now move an asset from a rack to a store room with patch api. The network summary report now handles tags correctly. The network cable name can now contain a slash. The custom property list is now reloaded correctly after deletion. IT Advisor 9.4.0 Known issues We are investigating the following issues in the ITA 9.4.0 web client: Work orders are not displayed on the Change Management tab. New change requests cannot be created on the Change Management tab. New features Web client You can now apply asset visuals to all objects in the selected rack, room, or location, not just in a rack. Rack layout is available in the floor view. Extended rack PDU bank custom labeling allows you to name different rack PDU banks for a better overview. Cooling Optimize devices (temperature, humidity and controller) and sensors from Cooling Optimize devices are available in IT Advisor. Platform updates Framework updated on desktop client and web client, making future migrations to newer versions easier. Performance improvements in the web client floor view and elevated view. Issues fixed You can now save custom properties with names longer than 36 characters. Optimized editing tags from the equipment browser and the API. Replace operation on tags is no longer supported in the API. ETL postgres database was upgraded. ETL configuration stores the database port number properly. The Colo overlay in the web client now colors vertical extrusions as expected. Timeout when saving changes in the desktop client no longer requires restart. Add and remove tool is no longer available in the web client for tenant users.

ITA version 9.3.9 replaces version 9.3.8. You can update directly from version 9.3.7 to 9.3.9. IT Advisor 9.3.7 Updates This release updates the ITA server OS to Rocky Linux 8.7. Power KPI now shows power data for power sources by location, not only by room. Custom numbering for tiles in the web client Performance improvements for multi-edit in the web client equipment browser Security fixes have been applied Bug fixes Rack labels in the web client and desktop client no longer rotate differently. The front-mounted location string in German was corrected. Tag recommendation is no longer shown for non strict tags. The login page is no longer greyed out after restore completes. Read-only users can now view the colo legend in the web client. IT Advisor 9.3.6 Updates Floor editing is now available directly in the web client. You can now monitor how ETL jobs are running in the web client. The Energy Cost report now includes racks that receive power directly from receptacles. The floor and rack layout export now includes PNG format. The desktop Equipment browser report includes empty rows. Security fixes have been applied. Bug fixes The Equipment browser empty filter option no longer finds non-empty values. A room filter is available in the equipment browser. You can now see location information when a rack is pinned. Security fixes have been applied. Bug fixes Tag filtering works with upper case letters. You can edit multiple tags from the web equipment browser and API as expected. Color-coded labels are supported on network devices. Optimized export from the web equipment browser. Colo states are sorted the same way in the desktop client and web client. Additional colors are assigned for saved queries. Layout image export works as expected. Opening a store room in the web client loads all content by default. The desktop client colo overlay displays the customer name and comment together. Simplified copying rack content from a rack bundle. You can now drop a bundle with one rack to a rack on the floor. IT Advisor 9.3.3 Known issues Filtering by tags in the web client equipment browser doesn’t work when the tag name contains upper case letters. The 3D view in the 9.3.3 web client is blank. Updates You can now configure custom states that you use in your environment for racks and spaces. The states are shown in the new Colo overlay in the web client. Administrators can save queries in the equipment browser that can be used by all ITA users. Saved queries are color coded, shown in the Saved queries overlay in the web client. You can now filter on tags in queries, and view tags in the web client. Tags are also available in the APIs. The Excel import now supports receptacles for racks. Various security fixes Bug fixes ITA 9.3.3 connects to IT Optimize. Message pooling is stopped when the ITA server returns a 401 response. Reduced the number of requests to AD server. Layer toolbar is now supported in multiple room editors. Active directory users now get emails from work order tasks. It is easier to edit power connections in the web client. There is now an “N redundancy” error when connecting server to extended rack ATS. You can now complete or change an empty workorder. You can now import blades via the Excel importer. The equipment browser export now contains row name, rack U position, and shows all pages and records. IT Advisor 9.3.2 Known issue IT Advisor 9.3.2 is unable to connect to IT Optimize. If you rely on IT Optimize, please wait until the next release to upgrade. Exported PNG size of the floor layout with cable tray now shows as expected. The layout export as image feature now works as expected. Server communication issues removing and adding the same fanout connection are now fixed. Barcodes with spaces are now considered as unique. First-added tag is now visible when assigning to equipment. Custom properties null values are now handled correctly in PATCH REST API. Custom certificate after ITA upgrade now works as expected. RPP rollout power was added to reported PDU total power. Desktop client release The desktop client installer now shows as expected in Japanese. Login to desktop client when password contains non-English letters now works as expected. The desktop client shows correct error message when providing an incorrect password. The Help Center URL was updated. BootstrapConfig.ini is now saved in user directory. IT Advisor 9.3.1 Updates Users can now comprehensively model network cable routing across a data center room in 2D in the desktop client. Users can now get cable length estimates from IT Advisor in the desktop client. Users can now model extended rack ATS to visualize inlets and outlets with detailed power informations. Users can now model modular patch panels. Users can now update custom properties and standard properties in one operation via the extension of the asset REST API. The RS-232 connector type was added to the list of connector types supported. Bug fixes Network port modules now export in alphabetical order. The error message when the license count is exceeded is now clearer. Power values are now updated on application graphics. Copying rooms between locations now also copies cable tray layers. The web client can now show over 10 audit trail entries. The location area can now correctly be displayed in US units in the web client. IT Advisor 9.3.0 Known issues There is a known issue upgrading to 9.3.0 affecting all existing online IT Advisor 9.2.x versions on CentOS 8 (offline upgrade is not supported). Please perform a clean install of IT Advisor 9.3.0 and then restore a backup file (from 9.2.x). A known Polkit vulnerability in the Linux distribution shipped with ITA 9.x has been discovered. Customers running ITA 9.3.0 can mitigate the vulnerability by manually upgrading Linux distribution packages using Webmin. Customers running ITA versions prior to 9.3.0 are recommended to upgrade to ITA 9.3.1 when it is released in early April to obtain the fix. There is a known issue installing or upgrading to ITA 9.3.0 on machines that use EFI that prevents the VM from starting. Known issues There is a known issue upgrading to 9.3.0 affecting all existing online IT Advisor 9.2.x versions on CentOS 8 (offline upgrade is not supported). Please perform a clean install of IT Advisor 9.3.0 and then restore a backup file (from 9.2.x). A known Polkit vulnerability in the Linux distribution shipped with ITA 9.x has been discovered. Customers running ITA 9.3.0 can mitigate the vulnerability by manually upgrading Linux distribution packages using Webmin. Customers running ITA versions prior to 9.3.0 are recommended to upgrade to ITA 9.3.1 when it is released in mid-February to obtain the fix. There is a known issue installing or upgrading to ITA 9.3.0 on machines that use EFI that prevents the VM from starting. Customers who deploy ITA on machines that use EFI should wait until to upgrade until ITA 9.3.1 is released in mid-February.
