IT Advisor 9.5.1

 

A new desktop client is not required for this release. Use the ITA 9.5.0 desktop client.

 

New features in the web client

 

Updated landing page (Inventory)

 

  • Context-sensitive map, floor preview and alarms pane
  • Floor preview with device shading based on device capacity information (Capacity license required)
  • New alarms list, displayed when Data Center Expert devices are associated to IT Advisor assets
  • The map now shows site status based on alarms and capacity information.

Customizable dashboards   new.png

 

IMPORTANT: All existing dashboards from ITA 9.5.0 and earlier were removed and must be recreated.

 

Dashboards are created per user.
Dashboard widgets are currently limited to IT Advisor related information.

Dashboard widgets may need Capacity license installed. 

 

You can change, move, and resize widget positions.

 

  1. Go to Dashboard and click New dashboard.
  2. Specify the dashboard name.
  3. Choose to recreate the dashboard From scratch or From templates.
  4. Click Start if from scratch and add widgets.
  5. Click Next if from templates, choose a template, and click Create.

New user interface for Users, User groups, and Customers

 

Users, User Groups, and Customers pages in the Administration menu were updated to align with other Schneider Electric software products.

 

Users

 

  1. Tiles were replaced by a list. Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view.

    Add new user button; Search field

  2. User management buttons: Edit user, Reset password, Delete user
  3. Group assignment: Click in the field to choose a group from the list.
  4. Permission management button: Edit permissions

User groups

 

  1. Group icons were replaced by a list. Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view.

    Create new user group button; Search field, indicator for number of group members

  2. Group management buttons: Set group as default, Edit group, Delete group
  3. Permission management button: Edit permissions
  4. Group membership management button: Edit members

Customers

 

  1. Details for the selection in the list are visible in the same view.

  2. Customer management buttons: Activate, Edit customer, Delete customer
  3. Permission management button: Add permissions

Floor view updates

 

  1. Context management buttons replace tabs to easily change to the floor, rack, and room editor views.

    Each context has its own toolbar on the left.

    Note: The Network context is read-only at this time. Improvements coming in a future release.

  2. Collapsible Explorer view contains Explorer for navigation and Pinned rack view.

    Explorer view includes device alarm information (requires Data Center Expert integration).

    Select a rack to edit content in Pinned view.

  3. Device properties
  4. Collapsible context-sensitive data panes change based on the selection on the floor.
  5. Link mode toggle

Rack shading on the floor view is based on capacity settings; red is critical, yellow is warning.

 

Capacity Licensing enables rack/device overlays that display capacity information based on the selected context.

  • Assets: U-space and weight capacity
  • Power: Estimated load
  • Network: Used/free port information

 

Add assets in rack view 

 

You can now add, change, and delete assets and edit properties in rack view. 

 

  1. Open the floor view. Select the Assets context.
  2. Open the rack view and select the rack on the floor.
  3. Click the lock icon to unlock the floor view. Click the Add icon.
  4. Search for and select the genome and drag it to the rack.

Power connection properties

 

U position is now included in in the rack properties.

 

  1. Open the floor view. Select the Power context.
  2. Select a rack on the floor.
  3. Open the Properties pane on the right. Select Power to see an overview of power capacity for the selection.
  4. Scroll to the bottom to manage Power Connections.

Click the toggle at the bottom of the floor view to see the  Power Dependency tab which provides access to the power path layout.

 

Device association

 

Associate a device from an external system (Data Center Expert or IT Expert) to an IT Advisor asset.

 

  1. Open the floor view, Select the Device Association context.
  2. Click the lock to unlock the floor view. Click the Unassociated devices icon.  
  3. Expand Monitoring on the left and find the device in the list.

    Click the arrow  >  for the device to see its Properties, Product and Matches panes.

  4. Move the cursor over the existing device to create the association. If a matching genome is found, the unassociated item can be placed in the room as a new asset.

External systems integration

 

Configure and manage integrations with Data Center Expert and IT Expert servers on the Configuration > External systems page in the web client.

Note: Only one IT Expert connection is allowed at a time.

Customize the title and logo in reports

 

You can now change the title and logo in reports. 

 

If the Name field is empty, the default name is used. The custom report name is not saved permanantly.

 

You can upload two different image files for a logo. The selected file is used.

If no logo is selected, the default Schneider Electric logo is used. The selected logo is not saved permanantly.

 

Genome requests

 

A Request new genome button on the Genomes > Genome Library and My Genomes pages now opens a web page to a request form at https://app.ecostruxureit.com/request/.

Internet access is required.

 

Issues fixed

 

  • Single sign on from EcoStruxure IT Expert now works as expected.

  • ETL measurements are now sorted properly after import.

  • You can now assign customers to new or open cages and racks as expected.

  • Cable trays can now be configured on a plain floor.

  • A cold aisle containment system (CACS) can be added to the desktop client and the web client as expected.

  • The test patch API operation executes as expected.

  • The multiple asset patch APi operation no longer sets the same barcode on linked equipment.

  • ITA 9.5.1 build 25541: Fixed issue causing delaying loading and closing rooms
  • ITA 9.5.1 build 25541: Rack U-Space report now works as expected.
  • ITA 9.5.1 build 25541: PUE dashboard can now be recreated
  • ITA 9.5.1 build 25541: Local ITA users can be created with predefined passwords

 

Known issues

 

ITA 9.5.1 build 25195

 

  • ITA web client dashboard (this issue is fixed in ITA 9.5.1 build 25541) 

    When the PUE dashboard is created based on the template, no data appears in the dashboard.

  • ITA desktop client floor view (this issue is fixed in ITA 9.5.1 build 25541)

    Some customers are experiencing long delays when opening or closing rooms in the equipment browser pane. This issue is more noticeable in large models.

     

  • Rack U-Space report generates an error (this issue is fixed in ITA 9.5.1 build 25541)

     

  • Unable to create a new local ITA user with a defined password (this issue is fixed in ITA 9.5.1 build 25541)

     

 

IT Advisor 9.5.0

 

A new desktop is required for the IT Advisor 9.5.0 release.

 

New features in the web client

 

Favorites

 
  • You can now mark rooms or locations as favorites directly from the main inventory page. Right click and select Add to favorites.
  • Click the toggle to Show only favourite locations in the navigation tree or show all rooms and locations.

Power Configuration

 
  • Select Power Consumers in the Properties pane to manage pairing power consumers for racks and cages.
  • Select multiple power consumers to pair or unpair.

Breaker Panels

 
  • Select Breaker Panels in the Properties pane to manage breaker panels.
  • Add new panels or manage existing ones in the Breaker Panel pane.

New Reports section

 

You can now generate reports in the web client.

Click Reports and select a report type. Select a date range, location, and the information to include and click Generate Report.

Click Export Report to save as a PDF.

 

Available reports include:

  • Audit Trail
  • Capacity History
  • Energy Cost by Customer
  • Energy Cost by Tag
  • Energy Cost
  • Inventory
  • Inventory with Serial Number
  • Rack Audit
  • Rack Capacity
Note: The Rack Audit report now shows the time of the last rack audit.

Assign Custom Properties and Tags

 
  • You can now assign custom properties and tags to locations and rooms. Select a location and right click. Select Edit properties.

General improvements

 

  • You can now drag to resize room fixtures such as rows, gaps, and blocks, or drag and drop to move fixtures in the Room Editor view.

 

  • Adjusted nameplate and estimated load information are now available in the web client Equipment browser. Select one or more assets and click Edit items.

Usability Improvements

 
  • The left side bar is now categorized into sections:

- Model: Contains Inventory and Genomes

- Analyze: Contains Dashboard and Reports

- Manage: Contains Change Management

 

  • The Administration section moved to the top right toolbar. cogwheel.png

 

Issues fixed

 

  • Improvements to work orders
    The work order task list no longer automatically scrolls to the top after modifying an entry.

     

  • External URLS to assets
    External links to assets in ITA are now active as expected.

     

  • Audit report permissions
    User Rights and Authentication Servers permissions are no longer required to run audit reports.

     

  • Desktop client asset properties tooltip
    In the Customer properties tooltip in the desktop client, the Customer name field is no longer populated with data from Company and Comment fields.

     

  • Capacity calculations
    Capacity data calculation and display issues were addressed.

     

  • Breaker panel properties
    Breaker panel details are now displayed as expected.

     

  • Room doors
    You can now place a door opening to the inside or the outside of a room.

     

  • Room size
    Rooms created using US customary units are now sized correctly.

     

Known issues

 

  • On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, configuration changes are not saved after logging out of the web client.

     

  • On the Dashboards > Sustainability metrics tab, the Price field in Subsystem Cost is cleared when you click Set default price and CO2 emission.

     

  • Hot and Cold Aisle Containment systems are not created correctly in the web client.
