Connector for ConnectWise in IT Expert for Partners

You can now create a connector to forward alarm data from organizations you manage in IT Expert for Partners to your ConnectWise PSA ticketing system.   To allow you access to data, customers must first select Allow API access to device data, an Administrator option in IT Expert on the Administration > Subscriptions page. New transaction flow for IT Expert subscriptions

December 2019   You and your customers now have a more streamlined way to purchase and activate EcoStruxure IT Expert subscriptions.   Your customer will still purchase subscriptions through you, just like any other APC purchase. When your customers’ EcoStruxure IT Expert trial or subscription is about to expire, you’ll both be notified via email.   Then, instead of entering a purchase order number like you used to, you’ll now receive an email with your customer’s license key. You can enter the license key from the Action menu in your EcoStruxure IT for Partners interface, or email the license key to your customers to activate themselves on the Administration > Subscriptions tab in IT Expert.

Partner Administrator access to IT Expert

IT Expert Administrators can grant partners full Administrator access to their organization to allow their partners to manage their organization including:   Firmware updates Device configuration Creating dashboards Acknowledging alarms   Once your customer allows you access as an IT Expert Administrator, you'll see a link to the Administration tab in the Settings menu when you launch IT Expert to view a customer's organization.   Log in to EcoStruxure IT for Partners and select a customer. Set up alarm email notifications for your IT Expert customers

Partners can now set up alarm email notifications for IT Expert customers.   Log in to EcoStruxure IT Partner. On the Customers tab, find the customer you want to set up alarm emails for. Click Actions and then click Set up alarm email.   Partner_Customer_tab_actions_360022906834.png   You can send alarm notifications for critical and warning alarms to multiple email addresses separated by a semicolon ( ; ).   You can send email to individuals or to a system that supports mail forwarding rules. The system could then send email based on the location the alarm is coming from, for example.   Partner_alarm_email_notification_2_360022906834.png   Choose to receive emails for only critical alarms, for both critical and warning alarms, or never.   Alarm emails can be sent in Original format with graphics, usually preferred for human readers, or as Simple plain text. Plain text is more easily understood by ticketing systems.   To test the email setup, trigger an alarm on a monitored device. If the email doesn't arrive, verify that the alarm email didn't get caught in a spam filter. If an email alarm storm occurs, the number of emails sent may be limited to protect the system.

SAML 2.0 Single Sign On (SSO)

Partners and IT Expert Administrator users can now configure SAML 2.0 single sign on in IT Expert. Any identity provider that supports the SAML protocol is supported.   Once you configure SSO, all users with an email address on one of the domains you specify must use your identity provider to log in to IT Expert. You can still use the IT Expert Administration > Users option to invite and manage users from email domains not using the domains you specify for SSO.   If you use SSO for your organization, you must also configure your organization's users on the Administration > Users tab. Otherwise, the Schneider Electric Service Bureau cannot contact the individuals responsible in case of an incident.   See Configure SAML single sign on (SSO) in IT Expert

In the EcoStruxure IT Expert for Partners web interface, the Insights tab displays recommendations and information about subscriptions and UPS and UPS battery replacement opportunities. You'll get actionable insights and reasons to reach out to customers with tailored suggestions to modernize their infrastructures.     Replace UPS and Replace UPS battery   Click a customer name in the list to view, filter, and sort information that can lead to replacement opportunities.   Exceeding subscriptions   Contact your customers to discuss their monitoring needs. IT Expert subscription plans are flexible based on the number of assets customers need to monitor.   No subscriptions   Upgrading to an IT Expert subscription unlocks important device management features, such as:   Clone configurations between devices. Review available firmware updates for better security. Get actionable insights to avoid downtime and investigate the performance, efficiency, and equipment health with assessments: UPS score Device security Alarm report UPS load Active lifespan alarms   Upcoming expirations   We recommend starting conversations about renewal 120 days before expiration to assess your customers' current needs.     IT Expert trial   Subscribe your customers to IT Expert so they can keep the configurations they set up in the trial, and continue to have access to full functionality to proactively monitor, manage and optimize their IT equipment.   Log in to EcoStruxure IT Expert for Partners

Alarm map for partners

The alarm map gives partners an overview of the customers who are connected to their organization based on location.   Partners can see IT Expert customers who have alarms they need to attend to and quickly navigate to those customers from the map. Note: Only customers with active IT Expert  subscriptions are visible on the map. Partners - IT Expert subscription management in mySchneider

  EcoStruxure IT Expert subscription management moved from the existing provisioning system to mySchneider on April 1, 2025.   Subscription licenses sold after April 1, 2025 will be managed on mySchneider. At the next renewal, existing subscription licenses will be managed on mySchneider License keys created before April 1, 2025 can still be redeemed in IT Expert.   mySchneider Software Management is a credit-based licensing system enabled by a digital voucher. Partners can purchase IT Expert 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year software licenses and credits (nodes) in mySchneider. Once your order is complete and you receive a voucher, you redeem the voucher for credits that you use to create subscription licenses for customers.   In mySchneider Software Management, you can:   Activate new IT Expert subscription licenses for customers Renew IT Expert subscription licenses Amend existing IT Expert subscription licenses   Partners: Learn more about using mySchneider Software Management Partner FAQ     The Manage Subscription page in the EcoStruxure IT for Partners portal has changed to accommodate provisioning in mySchneider Software Management:   You can redeem and validate the subscription licenses created in MySchneider for your customers. You can no longer specify the start date for subcriptions in EcoStruxure IT for Partners. You now now specify the start date in mySchneider when you redeem credits for the license.

Webhooks in IT Expert

  Webhooks seamlessly integrate external applications and services with EcoStruxure IT. Get real-time data updates, trigger specific actions based on events, automate workflows, and enhance collaboration between different systems.   Administrators can configure webhooks to manage the incident escalation process in platforms such as ServiceNow, X-matters, MoogSoft, or on local servers.   An IT Expert subscription is not required.   Partners with Administrator access to customer organizations can configure webhooks in IT Expert in Administration > More > Webhooks.  Otherwise, in the partner portal, click Webhooks.    The instructions for use are the same for both.  How to configure webhooks
