Hi,
Wiser Room thermostat current temperature is showing only in the multiples of 0.5. is it possible to show it in multiples of 0.1 like every other thermostats.
I understand the schedules can only be adjusted in 0.5 , that's fine, only looking to have actual room temperature accurately

The Wiser system does seem to work in 0.1°C increments internally - but rounds temperatures for presentation to the outside world (for reasons unknown!).
Using the API, you can see the actual temperature and you can also set such a temperature in a schedule (where it appears to be honoured correctly) - and it shows correctly in the app. Oddly, the API can't do the same for a 'boost' or manual change.
All a bit odd!

How do you use API?

The API isn't formally documented - but snippets can be found scattered across the web. It's fairly logical, so you can start to guess at other functionality after a while.
Follow the links in this thread to get started and maybe this one .
Perhaps Home Assistant with the Wiser Integration might be something you want to try...
(Home Assistant can run on a variety of platforms (Windows, macOS, Raspberry Pi etc)

Thanks I must try that.
Also, I would like to see the total number of hours the heating was on for a day, week and month. Do you think it would be possible from API or home assistant?
Thanks again

There's a few factors muddying that:
If it's a modulating boiler, there are many different versions of being "ON". Even if it's using simple ON/OFF control, you will only see when the Boiler was instructed to light (it might spend considerable periods "OFF", because of the Flow-stat).
You'd probably get more accurate information from a Smart-gas meter (I don't have a Smart Meter, but I know there are apps around to download the data). In the case of my Oil Boiler, I have an elapsed-hours meter, wired to the actual Burner (used primarily to figure out how much Oil I have left).
It probably depends what exactly you want to know 🤔 ...

With Home Assistant pretty much anything is possible. However, as @PhilHornby said, it depends on what you class as on. I have multiple different measures of on in Home Assistant, and as my smart meter is still waiting to be upgraded to SMETS2, I am mainly using these Zigbee pipe temperature sensors to monitor my flow and return temperatures to the boiler. When the flow is above a certain temperature, the boiler is on.
Nothing's really 100% accurate though, even a when my smart meter is upgraded, they only send updates every half an hour, so you're not easily going to get this down to minute accuracy. Until someone makes a smart boiler, the only way to do that would be to wire some sort of power monitoring sensor to the boiler and I'm not even sure that would be 100% accurate either.

SMETS 2 Upgrade. Lol. I have two systems in two houses served by EDF (grrr) and Scottish Power (grrr squared). One is a SMETS 1 affair and the other is a SMETS 2 that wasn't commissioned properly as I get regularly hounded for gas readings. Both companies extol the virtues of becoming SMART. Actually both companies DGAF about remediating. After some hours of telephone holding queues, false promises and chatbot nonsense, I can only conclude that they only have enthusiasm to fit prepayment meters. Do not hold your breath on this becoming better.

Do you know which actual sensor they use? I tried to make some (using DS18B20's) but they were ill-suited to the application - although in the past I've found them fine for measuring air temperature.
Instead, I bought a cheap Chinese meter that interfaces to Type-K Pipe Clamps. These appear to work quite well - but obviously, there's no remote data transmission. I bought them mainly for balancing (or rather attempting to balance) my radiators.
the only way to do that would be to wire some sort of power monitoring sensor to the boiler and I'm not even sure that would be 100% accurate either.
Oil boilers use a photo-transistor/LDR to sense the light given off by the flame. Something could be wired to that! I wonder what a modern Gas boiler does? (My last one had a pilot light, so didn't have to deal with the issue).

I'll fight to avoid a Smart Meter, until such time as I can see an advantage. E.on Next can't properly handle meter readings at 30 day intervals, let alone 30 minute! (All these 'fancy' tariffs just aim to get you to change your habits and shift the load. I don't want to 😛 ).
Then there's the issue of the Remote Switch that they contain.
Anyway, I made my own Smart Meter 😉 ... using the Flashing LED to remotely measure Energy and Power.

It turns out that it wasn't an original thought!

Sorry, don't know what sensor they are using.
