Renewal Notification and Order Delivery

Software Renewals share the same philosophy as the initial sale. The notification process is designed to communicate with Owners and enable them to purchase for Renewal through their preferred channel. The notification and process to renew varies slightly by product, as outlined below. PowerChute Network Shutdown, Secure Network Management Card System (SNS) EcoStruxure IT Expert  SmartConnect  PowerChute Network Shutdown, Secure Network Management Card System (SNS) Renewal (Expiration) Notifications These products use a Self-Service Software Renewal Process, which is designed to notify and connect Owners with a preferred channel to initiate an order. Beginning with 6 months out from the expiration date, the identified Owner of the license is sent an operational email notifying that their license is coming up for expiration. The email recommends the Owner take action via a link to mySchneider to Log In to Renew.   Self-Service Software Renewals Email Notification:     mySchneider Software Management – Purchase Options Presented: The link from the Renewal Notification email takes the user to mySchneider where they must create an account if needed, and log in. Once logged in, they will arrive on a screen in mySchneider Software Management, displaying the relevant license details and options to initiate the purchase of their expiring SKU and Quantity: Email Partner – Schneider Electric does not promote nor connect the user directly to any specific Partner in this option. Users may input the email of their preferred Partner and automatically embeds the necessary license details for Renewal upon Send. Find a Partner – If the user does not already have a preferred partner to order from, a Partner Locator is available to search for Certified Premier or Elite IT Solution Providers. Purchase via mySchneider – Transactional products are available to buy at a premium from us directly. Today, 93% order through their preferred Partners, and only 7% order directly online with credit card.* *Data as of Feb 2025. Includes PowerChute Network Shutdown and Secure Network Management Card System (SNS)      Support for Renewal Completion As part of the standard Self-Service Software Renewals process, if after notification the renewal is not completed by 30 days from expiration, a Schneider Electric License Support representative will reach out to the identified Owner of the license and attempt to facilitate the Renewal. Owners are encouraged to engage their partner of choice or ensure they know how to select a qualified partner. They are reminded to take action before Expiration and educate on the Digital Voucher Redemption and Renewal process in mySchneider.     EcoStruxure IT Expert The renewal notification email that IT Expert Owners receive will look slightly different and contains a different message. The IT Expert expiration date is communicated along with a message to reach out to their Customer Success Manager to initiate the order for Renewal.   EcoStruxure IT Expert Renewals Email Notifications:     Order Delivery and Activation PowerChute Network Shutdown, Secure Network Management Card System (SNS) and EcoStruxure IT Expert products are delivered in the form of an email with Digital Voucher and must be redeemed in mySchneider Software Management Digital Locker to apply the Renewal. Once the order is fulfilled, a Digital Voucher Code is emailed to the “Ship To” contact provided by the Seller on the order. Important: If the Purchasing Entity provides their own email address as the “Ship To” on the order, the Purchasing Entity will need to either perform the Voucher redemption on behalf of the customer OR forward the Digital Voucher email to their customer to Redeem the Voucher and Renew the license in mySchneider. For full instructions on Digital Voucher Code redemption and the Renewal process inside of mySchneider, see Support & Help       SmartConnect Renewal (Expiration) Notifications Renewal email notifications are sent to the Owner and Reseller (if data sharing is active) starting with 90 days in advance of expiration. Within the software application itself, users can view Subscriptions coming up for expiration and download a Renewals Report. The Renewal purchase is treated the same as a new license purchase for SmartConnect. Customers do not need to reference a serial number or existing subscription ID. SmartConnect users who want to renew may do so either through a partner or online.   Order Delivery and Activation SmartConnect orders are delivered via Activation email containing the subscription ID and Activation Code to be activated in the SmartConnect application by the Owner.

Getting started with Renewals for Partners

As part of the mySchneider Software Management Software Renewals process, software owners are notified of their upcoming software expiration, and they are encouraged to purchase through their preferred channel. The Purchasing Entity who places the order with Schneider Electric is entitled to information about the software sold, which can be used for renewal activities.   Partners include IT Distributors and Resellers with a direct purchasing relationship with Schneider Electric.   View the topics below to learn more about this process: Renewals - Information Sharing Rules Finding Software Order and Entitlement Information Renewals Notification and Order Delivery Renewals - Support and Help Partner FAQs

Information Sharing Rules

Our Selling Philosophy We enable customers to purchase how and where they desire. We recommend customers purchase via partners. We provide options for customers to buy direct but at a premium over what a customer can purchase via partner. When a digital entitlement is sold by a partner, we recommend customers engage that partner for future entitlement management and renewals.   Who is eligible to receive software order and entitlement information from Schneider Electric? The purchasing account Master Service Agreement (MSA) and Purchase Order (PO) to Schneider Electric acts as the reference with whom we can communicate and share order information. Schneider Electric sells software in a multi-tier channel model and therefore the various player Roles in the value chain may require order information to support each of their businesses.   Our information sharing model is not dictated by “end users” and “partners”. The right to access order information from Schneider Electric is based on the inclusion of the following Roles on the Purchase Order to Schneider Electric, or as delegated by the Owner.   Role Definitions Vendor: Schneider Electric Purchasing Entity: The company that places the order with Schneider Electric (IT Distributor and/or Partner). Entitled to Software Order Information due to MSA and PO. Reseller: A company that places an order with the Purchasing Entity and sells to their own customer. Owner (aka Licensee): The company responsible for making decisions on the lifecycle of the software over time. Entitled to Software Order Information as the Owner. Installer: A company responsible for managing the setup and install of the software (This could be a Managed Service Provider). Another company with access delegated by the Owner.   What kind of software information can be shared by Schneider Electric? Our information sharing rules adhere to our global data policy. Software Order Details can be shared only with the Purchasing Entity Software Entitlement Information we can share with the eligible Roles based on rules above: Subscription ID SKU Quantity Start Date End Date Purchasing Entity’s Purchase Order # We cannot share entitlement details based on a PO if the requester does not work for the Purchasing Entity that placed the order with Schneider Electric. We cannot share any details of the owner or location of the software asset installation.   Next: Where to find Software order & Entitlement Information
